Alchemical ammunition

Alchemy Manual states "firearm ammunition can’t be imbued with alchemical ingredients, nor can ammunition types that don’t deal piercing damage."

Campaign Clarifications states "You may purchase other types of ammunition with the properties of any of the arrows listed on these pages."

How do these two interact? Does the latter mean that you can buy, say, durable bullets, or pheromone shuriken? Does the Campaign Clarification basically invalidate or overrule the instruction from Alchemy Manual itself? And if not, what types of ammunition would the CC apply to?

The logical drop out would be that you can purchase any type of ammo that deals piercing damage, namely bolts, shiurken, darts, or if you're a slinger halfling sharpstones or spongestones.

Ok so the CC doesn't overrule the text in Alchemy Manual, just expands to a few kinds of ammo that aren't arrows? Correct?

That would be how I read it. (by durable bullet, i would think sling bullet, not musket bullet, because it can't make firearm ammo)

I agree with BNW and add, that even if you could somehow make these items for firearms that would prevent you from using the "normal" alchemical firearm ammunition.

What is the source for halfling sharpstones and spongestones?

Ah yes, 1e. Not usable for PFS2 organized play, I believe. But I don't think alchemical ammunition is limited to piercing ammunition in 2e. Still, it would be nice to be able to do piercing damage with a sling staff.

Just a friendly suggestion: Next time you need a 2e question answered, bring it up in a new thread rather than necromancing an old 1e thread. Also a good idea to specify which edition in the title.

Thanks. I didn't look at the date. I'll know better next time.
