The best quote that I have heard is from the Starfinder Q&A last week:
the Technology Guide is really good for Pathfinder, but it does come from, because it's sort of based on this Numerian technology from this ancient crashed starship that's kind of designed for Pathfinder, it's like you find this weird thing, it's some kind of gun, maybe it's broken, maybe it doesn't have charges or you won't be able to recharge it. So it is different from Starfinder because obviously those sorts of items are the norm, you go to Wal-Mart, space Wal-Mart, and those items are on the shelves.
It kind of sounds like the Iron Gods tech was made for Pathfinder and in Starfinder there'll be similar looking stuff but stuff that is specifically for that future setting. Somewhat supported by:
Q: Can I use swords and flintlocks in Starfinder?
RM: You can.
JK: We're not stopping you.
RM: Flintlocks are not a good idea.
OKCS: Flintlocks are under most circumstances a terrible idea. There's nothing you can do with a flintlock that a fully automatic rifle can do better. Swords is a different question. One of our core deities is Iomedae and she fights with swords. We've got effective technological sword options throughout your class options.

Yeah, Iron Gods is built on the assumptions of Pathfinder - magic is more prevalent and accepted than supertech, and it is very much "science fiction rolled into fantasy." Starfinder's assumptions appear to be the very opposite - tech is more prevalent than magic, and your 1st level SFPC has several thousand years of knowledge over a mid-to-high-level PFPC. I'd say you could make it work, but it would require a lot of fudging.
