Dragonhide armor from a non-true dragon

Rules Questions

I was wondering whether armors made from the dragonhide special material (core rulebook page 154, or http://paizo.com/pathfinderRPG/prd/ultimateEquipment/armsAndArmor/materials .html ) can be made from the hide of non-true dragons, like the dragon turtle, wyverns, drakes of all kinds, etc

RAW, I don't think so, but it seem acceptable. The problem is finding a beast large enough.

Nothing in my readthrough indicated you couldn't. It would still need to be the dragon type and size is in play. Personally, I'd lower the resale value as any buyer that can afford it can make the appraise check to tell that it's a functional knockoff.

I actually ran into that problem once myself when a player wanted to make armor, shield and clothing from Wyvern hide. The easiest way is just to consider it of Masterwork quality. That way you can at least have the stuff enchanted later and he was happy because he looked good in it.
