Same. All the classes designed for full casters and the feat so I could play old prestige classes are locked away. I was looking forward to this for a long time.
** spoiler omitted **
I like getting the books, I feel this just sets a dangerous precedent for locking things that shouldn't be locked

The Fighter's Stamina advanced weapon training option from Blood of the Beast appears to have slipped through. ^_^
(I wouldn't get attached.)
Im entirely surprise the Prestige Class that lets you come back from the dead is a thing too. Im not surprised its legal but I am surprised its entirely intact because the last bit of similar content they ended up removing that rider.

I'm curious to see what these chronicle based options for Paths of the Righteous is, because I'm currently really unimpressed. It's forced me to shelve 2 fun concepts I've been working on.
At least we can worship the elemental lords, as per Planes of Power.
Agents of elemental evil unite!
Sorry if the world's oldest roleplaying game company owns that phrase.
Except not really, because I'm evil.

Why do say they weren't legal before?
Sometimes a book references deities being legal just because we want that book to also be a legal resource for them (in the event someone doesn't want to rely on having the Inner Sea World Guide or Inner Sea Gods).

My guess is that the advanced weapon training is a legal option but because it grants you a feat that isn't sanctioned that references content that isn't legal, the option just doesn't do anything in PFS. Sort of like how some of the Lovecraftian options previously "worked".
Anyway, even if you get the stamina pool, you'd need the stamina descriptions sanctioned to use your stamina points on anything.

It's always strange when something Linda and I discussed and identified didn't translate properly when I typed up the text. You are correct; I am almost certain the ability referencing the stamina system should not be legal.

*Or whatever it's called. Can't remember, need sleep.
Of the legal options: in addition to the Strike True feat and the Aurora witch patron (mentioned above), I also wrote the sphere singer prestige class.
My heritor knight and stargazer classes didn't make it, nor did the (accurately named) Guided Star feat. Now to see what turns up on Chronicles!

Happy to see this update. Also most of the calls seem very reasonable. I'm actually surprised that so much content from Blood of the Beast passed the test as a few of the Archetypes seem a bit too good. Good thing oversized two weapon fighting was allowed. That is a really nice toy for fighters. I'm also very happy that all the Barbarian Rage powers from Villain Codex were approved. They open up a number of interesting builds.
So now Empiricist Investigators are gonna be praying to fey gods ey? Surprised that slipped through...
People are upset about two weapon grace but really the feat sucks so hard you never really want to use it anyhow. The two weapon pounce options are the much nicer additions for two weapon fighters anyways.

I am realllly not surprised, well done only partly blamed for one of those ^^ (not a fan of the stargazer, feel a bit like a straight upgrade to some classes) but a heritor knight would be fun ^^

I'm going to also echo a sentiment I read up thread. This update just confirmed I'm not buying any new books until they show up on AR.
I understand holding back some options for boons, but the sheer amount of classes / options withheld in Paths of the Righteous is ludicrous. I don't always expect a whole book of mechanical options to appeal to me when I buy it, but I also don't expect all 50% of the book I do care about to be withheld. This feels like a giant bait and switch.

No Iori's boon is worded differently. Only Elongated Cranium and Fey Obiedence work the same was as far as I am aware. Admittedly, the problem is less with the feats itself and more the Empiricist.

It's a really interesting idea to have players actually earn access to prestige classes in PFS but I do wonder if the way PFS is typically executed might dampen some of the enjoyment.
Will the prestige class be opened just to the character with the chronicle or all characters that belong to that player? Are all the prestige classes eventually going to be given on chronicle sheets or just some? Will they all be this season or spread out over the next few years?
In my opinion the tendency for PFS to be tight lipped on such matters doesn't help the campaign. Nobody would play with a GM who upon hearing your proposed character build wouldn't confirm that you'd be able to enter the prestige class you desire only to grant access to another character that isn't even suited for the PrC well past the ideal level for entry.

To answer your first question its typically opens up to all characters with the option to retrain into it with that character.

Which doesn't really help if the character you built for the PrC is now level 10 because you were waiting over a year for it and the chronicle is on another character.

The unfortunate solution for me at this point is to actually take my characters out of playing rotation. It also likely means i won't play any new scenarios before GMing them out of fear/worry that I will miss on one of these PrCs.
The other problem I foresee is that chronicles won't really be secret anymore. I can guarantee that any chronicle sheet I find that has a PrC, I'm going to make a post on here saying specifically what adventure gives it, I'm gonna tell the PFS Online Discord server, and I'm gonna tell everyone in my local group, because i would rather others know and be able to make an informed adventure choice than potentially waste it on the wrong character.

Agreed. If you unlock it as a player, you can usually unlock it for all characters. I've also seen the option sometimes to retrain certain characters (who played the adventure) to fit into the offered prestige class or archetype on chronicles.
I really enjoyed when I unlocked a weird bard archetype from a certain chronicle, and Bret and I built a pair specifically around a shared teamwork feat because of it.

I have to agree with you about improved familiars.
I managed to roll for a "Share the Wealth" boon at a convention, and have been hanging on to it for just such a contingency. It's my emergency back up plan.
As a player, choose one boon earned by one of your characters, and transfer it to another one of your characters. The recipient's level must be high enough that he could qualify to have played the adventure; he still qualifies if his level is above the adventure's level range. Once the boon is transferred, the original recipient is treated as though she no longer possessed the boon. You can only transfer a boon in this way if it opens up access to a new type of familiar, animal companion, or similar creature associated with a class feature. Record the boon's name, Chronicle sheet name, and the creature type below.
Alternatively, you can transfer access to a unique intelligent item, which the recipient can now purchase. This follows the same restrictions as if you were transferring access to a new familiar type. If the original character had already purchased the intelligent item, she must sell it before the recipient can purchase it."
I wish that there was some other way to transfer those... And I'd be okay if it required an expensive cost, like 20 prestige to do it. At the moment, the only other way to get those on the correct character after playing the adventure with the wrong one is to GM that adventure. For some people, that's okay. But others feel sad if they missed that adventure as a player.

To be clear, my issue with what they did with Paths of the Righteous isn't the fact that they took an option or two and are rewarding it via chronicle -- it's the sheer volume of options they took. Even if they started giving out a boon a month and we assume these are relatively accessible boons (not locked behind Cons), it'd still be minimum 5-6 months before some of these would be available. It's significantly more likely that specific options (even if unlocked for the whole player) won't be available until season 9+.
It's pretty regular that I might be interested in a couple of things in a book and a few don't get approved or they get an extra restriction (looking at you Jinx Witch). I can understand, and even expect that. But this was about half the book; and the half I happened to have any remote interest in.
I've never wanted to return a PDF before -- this one I do. Pulling this much material from one source seems particularly restrictive, to the extent that I wish they'd been more clear that this was coming even before the specific AR text was released.

I kinda wish they'd let you know which ones are held and which are banned. Like it kinda feels like a bait. Oh your PrC isn't legal, well it still MAY be legal later, so buy the book in case. Vs. PrC A, B, C... F are held for chronicles. "dang, I wanted class G, so I guess I won't need this book."
Don't think of it as bait and switch.
Some of these are meant to be exciting surprises, so that a player's eyes can light up when they see what they unlocked.
Also... I have successfully lobbied for a number of changes to what is legal in PFS play. If you have a desire for what you consider to be a balanced but flavorful option, start up a thread outlining why it should be legal, and what it could offer to enhance society play.
Who knows? You might cause the change you hope to see.

If you feel that strongly, you should write to customer.service@paizo.com, and ask them if you can return your PDF.

The biggest example I can think of is the Stargazer. Many kinda have the feeling that it might be to OP for PFS. But currently we don't know that.
And prestigious spellcaster is something that maybe PFS doesn't want. I sure don't know for sure.
So it's either ALL non legal material from the book is going to come out as a boon. Or it's more like a bait. Telling use that Options X are boons and options Y are never going to be legal lets me know WHAT to lobby to be included. And also it doesn't stop you from having exciting surprises to find out that this scenario was the one with the boon. Until someone's played it, because I to, like Patate - PK, as many as I could that the material was made legal and which scenario granted it. It also lets me know if I want the book. If I know option X will be legal by boon I could get the book now. If I don't know option X will make it or not I wont buy the book, and maybe not buy it if it does ever come up on a boon since I will have already moved on from it.
