Kaliel, the rule is dumb and makes no sense at all. I completely disagree with it. Just saying that it is the rule, apparently. I just choose not to use it because it is dumb. There are some very dumb rules when it comes to things like HP and saving throws, but this is the game we choose to play. It is one of the reasons I avoid organized play like the plague.
No apology needed if there was no intent to cause harm in some way. If offense was not given then I took none. Either way, I live by an old rule I have had about being online. Welcome to the internet. Your ideas will be challenged and you will be offended. If you can not handle that, then there's the door.

(I didn't want to post on this one cause it seems to be done but...) well the luck part I suppose could be the fireball not being as hot where you were hit or the hole in the ground not going exactly under you so that your arm only kind of limply falls into the hole. (like how I sleep.)
Object getting saves at all does seem weird to me.
I think the idea of you getting a save but still suffering from the effect anyways was a point that was made and I find that odd. (looking at you TOZ) so like you cast the pit on a chair the chair rolls a save rolls a 20 and then falls into the hole? I guess the hole is still there even after the save so why wouldn't it fall after the fact maybe?
same for a paralyzed person? so they save they don't fall then gravity takes over cause there is no ground under them?
This whole thing is weird if you over think it which i'm prone to doing.

Yeah, that was me. I'd have no problem with a GM that said I can roll the save but it won't actually matter because you're unable to move out of that square. I'll still run it like the FAQ says, because I don't find it breaks my suspension of belief. (If it did, there are a hundred other things in the rules that would break it before this corner case did.)
