Gestalt Sorcerer / Rogue build advice

Advice

I've got this gestalt Sorcerer(Sage)/Unchained Rogue(Phantom Thief) build for a Skulls & Shackles campaign. Details are in the profile of this alias. It's already submitted, so I probably can't make more than minor tweaks to the existing crunch, but I'm looking for advice going forward. I definitely want to PrC Arcane Trickster on the Sorc side, this being gestalt, being able to be an Arcane Trickster with 20 caster levels and full 9th level spellcasting will be nice. I went Sage in part because of the skill point synergy with Rogue, and partly because I prefer smart characters to charming ones, in case anyone's wondering. The GM has confirmed he will allow a prestige class on each side of the gestalt, so I am open to suggestions for the Rogue side. Duelist was the first thing that occurred to me, to add some Melee power just in case, but Shadowdancer also comes to mind as an intriguing possibility. As a rapier-wielding Besmaran, I guess I could take Deification Obedience and go Sentinel. But anyway, like I said, I'd appreciate advice going forward, I tend to play more straight gish-type characters like Magi and Warpriests, skill monkey and full caster are both roles I have less experience with.

If you go sniper archtype for rogue then you can be a blasty sorcerer and deal SA damage on your spells from afar. Arcane trickster even helps you on that as well. If you go this route then you may want to stay rogue for the range increments to SA. Also that means you could offset your class gains and get +1d6 every level from AT and rogue levels.

Yeah, but Sniper gives up trap finding and trap sense, which is an important part of playing a rogue in the first place. I'm not sure you can get the alternating level sneak attack like that, looks pretty cheesy to me. I'd expect a DM to say "no, you just get the faster progression".

Phantom thief gives up sneak attack so if you went trickster that's the only place you'd get it from.

Actually, since Phantom Thief gives up sneak attack it can't qualify for Arcane Trickster.

Unless you had another way to grab 2d6 sneak attack?

I talking about doing trickster on the other side of the gestalt.

It doesn't matter which side you're trying to take Arcane Trickster on.

A Sorcerer//Phantom Thief doesn't get sneak attack, so it doesn't qualify for the PrC.

Trap Sense isn't important unless you don't find the traps and you can pick up trapfinding on the other side with the seeker sorcerer archetype.

I'm talking about taking levels of sorcerer and then something that gets sneak attack (like vivisectionist or slayer and then trickster on the one had of the gestalt..........

Wow I'm dumb. How did I miss that? Ok, assume a regular unchained rogue.

With stuff already posted I know this might not be allowed, but after playing a Mindchemist/Vivisectionist alchemist one one side with conjuration(teleport) wizard on the other was a sight to behold. Cognatogen to boost int, extracts for heals and non-wizard spells. Trap Finder trait for the magical traps. Shift was great for thievery and battle field movement/escape.
