Maximum character limit?

What is the maximum character limit for pages/posts on the forums? Specifically for the 'Campaign Info' tab and an alias's 'About You' section on it's profile. I've tried searching the messageboards for this topic but have only found the fact that a limit exists, with no real details on what the limit might be.

I've gotten to a pretty high character count on one of my Campaign Info pages (~50,000) and now I copy the whole thing every time I add to it in case I go over and misfortune results; it'd be nice to know if this is necessary or if I've still got a fair amount of characters left to use. If possible, it would also be nice to know what to expect if I do go over the character limit and attempt to save the changes.

It's only on replies. Many posters hate the "Wall of words" and will tell you so.

It also makes it hard to replay to something at"The base of the wall" as that gets lost. Sometimes I will just copy paste the section I want to comment on and put SNIP above it.

On the "count to 1,000,000" thread on the forum games board, I wrote a quick script to generate every integer from wherever the thread was to 1,000,000 and post them all. I got a message saying "There was an error with the server. The system administrator has been notified."
I'm guessing that if the campaign info tab went over the limit, it would just fail to process your edit, and you'd still have what you'd written before editing it. I don't know though, and I don't want to risk testing it on one of my campaigns.

Thanks 137ben, that's my guess as well; I'll keep saving a backup of the page and when I finally do go over the limit I'll let you know what happens.
