Start this AP next month with my home group. Has anyone else also allowed this NPC to travel with their group? How did it work out?

I use him as a plot device and knowledge skill battery. Starting him as an expert and advancing him as a bard (archivist) and ensuring he has various language skills. Almost like a traveling library.

Sorta used him as a junior Pathfinder who is a bit naive and super excited to be hanging out with his "heroes"

I let the party choose his feats/skills as he advances.

You're welcome to sift through my campaign if you like. I recently passed tactical management off to one of my players for combat etc.

I don't use him as much as I did at the beginning, but I still like the feel of the tagalong scribe.

Thank you. I appreciate your insight. I'll give you campaign a look over. I was thinking of keep him leveling in Expert when the party reached 6th level, having him level with the party afterwards. Already have 5 players so don't want to affect the party power strength too much.

Sure thing! The campaign start got delayed. We're trying to finish Runelords, on the final session, and want to make sure everyone is there to complete it. So, Shattered Star is expected to start mid-August now.

Well as it stands now, we are starting this campaign next Friday (Aug 19). One of my players dropped out, so down to 4 players. My other players are starting to provide me with preliminary characters, two of which are cleric summoner chronicler and arcanist skill monkey. So, I think this will make Andel very redundant for the group and I'll probably keep him sidelined as a research study helper if they need additional information from the PFS's libraries.
