Do you Threaten With weapons you aren't considered to be wielding? Can you make attacks of Opportunity with them?

Specifically, the thing in most question is.. Kinetic Whip. Since you are neeeever Wielding such a weapon.

This question makes no sense, and seems overly convoluted to what you're really trying to get an answer for. That being said, I'll do the best I can.

A lot of definitions of "wield" (yes, I understand there is table variation on this sort of thing, but this usually) mention(s) that you can make attacks with the weapon in question, or that you are using an item in its intended purpose (such as using the blade of a greatsword to attack, or a shield strapped to your arm for protection).

Whether you threaten is a whole different matter, and is determined usually by if it's an armed attack, or it specifically states that it has a threat radius, as per the combat rules or ability text.

The big question is whether a Kinetic Whip is an armed attack or not. To that, I don't know, so I would suggest you link the ability text so as to clear up that confusion.

Seriously, a lot of this stuff can be solved in less posts and have less ambiguity if the rules text is cited; it's not so much that I'm lazy, but I wouldn't even know what to look under to find it myself (aside from "in the Occult Adventures book").

Does that answer your question?

Assuming you mean the Kineticist infusion, the answer's pretty clear in that case.

Additionally, from the Kinetic Blade infusion:

You form a weapon using your kinetic abilities. You create a non-reach, light or one-handed weapon in your hand formed of pure energy or elemental matter.

It's pretty safe to assume that you're going to be wielding a weapon if you're actually going to use it.

Also, the text is basically the same as abilities of the Spellblade and Mindblade Magus archetypes, and in those it's, again, fairly obvious that you're going to be wielding those weapons.

Actually, that is a mistake. One I myself made at first.

The kineticist is never considered to be wielding or gripping the kinetic blast (regardless of effects from form infusions; see Infusion), and she can't use Vital Strike feats with kinetic blasts.

Much as I love Kineticist, the wording and positioning of that wording on a good deal of things could probably be cleaned up. Mark Seifer seems quite good at the math. Less so at futureproofed and clear wording. I still think it is a great class though.
