Grabbing Style + Spell Combat

Rules Questions

So after going over spell combat it states a magus must have a free hand in order to spell combat while fighting, and grabbing style lets you grapple with one hand without a negative. Does this mean that while grappling you could spell combat a shocking grasp, and deal unarmed strike damage while grappling and spell strike damage?

So the idea would be Magus grapples, wins grapple, and takes on the grappling condition. Characters with the grappled condition, and without Still spell can not cast spells, as it requires two hands. Magus can cast spells as long as they have one free hand, and a weapon in the other hand, IE your Unarmed Strike/Fist currently engaged in the grapple.

Next round you maintain your grapple, and can now attack, can you spell combat / spellstrike?

I don't believe so, because I think it takes a full-round action to use spell comabt, and maintaining a grapple takes a standard action barring several feats. I also don't think it works because a grapple(even one to do damage) simply doesn't qualify for spell-combat, but I could be wrong about that.

Also, what's up with Grabbing Style in the first place? It repeatedly mentions grappling multiple enemies, without providing or requiring the ability to do so, AFAICT.

Grabbing style removes the need to grapple with two hands, and the negative that would come from doing so, as such you would be able to grapple two opponents as your character would have two hands, and no negative to grappling

Well, you've got a lot of things wrong. Grabbing style removes the CMD and AC penalties, but it doesn't change the fact that grappling utilizes a free hand.

And spells don't require two free hands, only one for all characters.

You cannot spell combat with grappling, as maintaining a grabble requires at least a move action, and spell combat is a full-round action.

You could spellstrike if you have greater grapple to maintain as a move action, as that only requires one hand if you are utilizing unarmed strikes with the same hand you cast with.

If you have greater grapple, any character can grapple two enemies. You maintain one with a move action and one with your standard action. All grabbing style does is remove the CMB and AC penalties.

So while getting a lot of what I posted incorrect, the end result is I can do what Im looking to do, but need to Greater Grapple to do so. While needing to make concentration checks of course. Thanks for the help Calth, appreciate the clarification on grappling.

You can spellstrike, but not spell combat, just want to make that clear.
