From what I hear from those more familiar, it seems to be aiming for more of a 5e route than 4e. Still not my cup if tea regardless - if I wanted something like 5e, I'd just play 5e - but I don't think it will be QUITE the about-face that 4e was.

I'll buy whatever it is you are selling.

At the moment we are working on an adventure series focusing on necromancers, dragons, vampires, and a stolen-treasures mystery. Intended from levels 2-20 give or take.

There's looser plans for future adventures and a few dabbles into mechanics, mostly on the realm of new archetypes - I know I want to do a collection of options for Paladins, including lots of archetypes for alternate alignments and codes, and possibly something for bards. More in the future, obviously. =)

Sounds great! Lemme know when it's for sale, I'll get it!

This is my greatest fear. All this talk of simplicity and streamlining I associate with a lack of versatility. If I can't create the character concepts I envision, what's the point in playing.

The versatility and nearly endless ways to build a character is one of the reasons I love Pathfinder Classic so much. Losing that ability would definitely be a minus for me. Sure, there are buckets of rules to remember, but I think they're worth it.

As for me.....

This is kind of serendipitous for me

I’m really having money problems

I’m pretty good with my massive collection of 3.5/PF.

The tabletop I’m dealing with now is 5.0 centric

It seems like a pretty good time to close off purchases

I don't need to worry about purchases when I have to keep paying 30 dollars to fill up my car...

I've been sitting on this news for 2 days now but I had to wait until the venue made its official announcement. DeFrance, the band in which my son is the bassist, is opening for Bon Jovi at a sold out show in Verizon Arena in Little Rock, Arkansas. I'm pretty much bustin' with pride for him and his friends.

That's fantastic Cal! Whoot!

Very cool, Cal. Very cool.

I was perfectly quiet. I didn't want to distract someone poking around in my chest.

I know, right?!? ;P

Spoiler:

I once had an infection so bad they had to give me an IV to kill it. The med was so strong they had to put an IV shunt in my arm all the way to my heart to distribute the med so it wouldn't damage my veins. Same technique they use to install stents.
I'm watching the screen while the tech feeds this tube into my arm, and he casually says, "Oops!"
I ask, "Oops? What Oops?!?" he says "oh nothing".
I told him, "You DO realize that the LAST thing a patient wants to hear when your shoving a hose towards his heart is Oops, Right?" O_o

Turns out he had pushed it in too far, and it was in my heart, but he pulled it back out an inch and I was fine. Still,... 'Oops', not cool man! ;P

Glad your feeling better Cal!

*is debating about getting tickets to see Metallica when they come to Pittsburgh later in the year...*

But good for you son, DM Cal!

Thanks!

Metallica is coming here in January. I saw them on the black album tour and though I loved the "Load" and "Reload" albums they've done nothing I've been interested in since then. They put on a great show, though.

GAAAAAHHH!!! I just found out 5 of my 8 players can't be here for tomorrow's game. I wrote the adventure over a week ago for 5 to 8 players. Now I have less than 24 hours to come up with a reason why the 5 of them didn't appear with the others on these unknowably ancient and reportedly infallible teleport disks which they use to travel to the far corners of the realm for their missions in the new campaign. GRRRRR

DM Cal,

They all decided to get drunk and party on the Plane of Elemental Water?

Also I checked, they are coming the PPG Arena on October 18th. I saw the one when they were in Pittsburgh back in...2004 I think?

Hey all. I asked this question in the Rules forum but got bupkiss for an answer. I need a to know the answer PDQ so I can make some adjustments for the lack of a healer in the party tomorrow.

Is there a feat or trait that allows an Investigator to create a potion or extract that he can use on another character? A Potion of Cure Light Wounds for example.

Sorry, Cal. I just checked the PRD, and there doesn't appear to be anything that can help an Investigator craft potions. Maybe hire a healer npc for the session? A pregen?

Have them hire a Witch with the Hedge Witch and Hex Channeler archetypes.

Instant cleric without the deity! ;)

Investigator can take the alchemist's infusion discovery and give his extracts to others (under Alchemist Discovery in Investigator Talent description).

I got up too late, don't I?

2 people marked this as a favorite.

Drejk has it. Infusion ftw

Must be from a book I don't have.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Advanced Player Guide where alchemist class was introduced contains infusion, Advanced Class Guides where investigator class is introduced notes that investigator can take it. It's easy to overlook, as it is on the list of alchemist discoveries that can be taken as investigator talents. You either need to remember what infusion alchemist discovery does while reading investigator description, or cross-check it with APG. I remembered the discovery and that investigator can select some of the alchemist infusions, but still had to recheck if investigator can actually take it. I even thought that investigator gets discoveries, I forgot they are called talents.

Have APG. Don't have ACG. That's how I missed it.

Thanks everyone! I'll make sure he's aware of that discovery in the Talents section.

Advanced Class Guide gets a bad rap because the first printing was a mess, but the second printing is pretty good.

Using the online resources (both Paizo and PFSRD20) can help with missing things like that, as you can follow the links to the relevant info.

BUT,... I still miss stuff all the time, as I really prefer flipping through pages of a book. :)
(And like most of us, I don't own anywhere near all of them!) :P

Storm Lady Harpy. For when you really need to shock your players.

I enjoy my books, but I enjoy having groceries more. I am happy my books are serving another vital purpose as a small stream of income as I sell them on eBay. Although the miniatures seem to bring the best money.

Links man! Links!

PnP group is sounding more into the playtest than I expected. Will have to see how this goes.

Yeah. I'd gone in figuring the group would be as uninterested in PF2 as I was, only to find half the group is extremely excited for it. Left me kinda shellshocked for a bit, I have to admit.

I can't wait to tell my brothers, most were still playing 2nd edition when I introduced them to Pathfinder.

I'm interested but also Meh. Mostly because I wait until the playtest document to be released BEFORE I make any opinions/assumptions.

LOL,
Yeah, probably a good idea Thomas,

;P

Yeah, groceries are good.

Mmmm,... Groceries,...

BOOKS are good, but I don't think I'd enjoy eating them! ;P

And minis are too crunchy, ;D

I hate lima beans. But I won't begrudge you for liking them Cal.

There's really not many things I don't like. Which greatly explains my rotundity.

Wow, that is cool!

Of course with MY luck, I'll actually win, and have to get rid of it, because there's no way my wife will let me toss out her family's dining set we have to make room for this. ;P

I'm not sure rotundity has much to do with things you like or don't like. But I could be wrong.

Also I'm glad Rag is on my side of the great lima bean debate. :p ;)
