So what's shakin' today, Monkeys?

It's Monday, so,... The usual? ;P

Robin Williams, from Hook;

Spoiler:

>"We use lawyers instead of rats in scientific experiments for several reasons.
One, the scientists become less attached to the lawyers. And two, there are some things that even rats won't do!"

Has absolutely nothing to do with the previous statements, (OR the usefulness of a certain Monkey working hard in his office!) but it's what popped up in my mind when the 'rat' comment came around.

Shows you where my mind is most days, now doesn't it?!? ;P

And yes, that would make this a normal Monday for me. ;)

Heh, I love that.

Got to play D&D for the first time in ages today. Not only did all four players independently make characters that were members of the Thieves' Guild, but two PCs were killed in an attempted robbery while "shopping" for provisions. We didn't even get two blocks away from the inn we started in.

Ran a hell of a game last night, team did everything right. Tonight was anime night and auditing chronicles for my PFS characters.

Drew a map for a scenario I may be running at a convention on Sunday, still sort of unwinding from the hell of a game that TOZ ran last night.

Tomorrow have to re-check and double check for packing and scenarios to make sure I'm not missing anything for the trip.

...so what you're saying is we need golf clubs that are used by a cardinal on the course?

Ok folks, steer back to safer waters*

*yes I know I encouraged it. Mea culpa. Let’s not persue it further.

Mid point of the week. I still have a lot to do catching up. Funny how one day extra off can screw you over.

I’m still struggling to stay engaged. It’s not easy

After a day of staring at a computer, it’s very hard for me to want to do it at home

I have nights like that as well :-)

My long term plan is to run the massive number of PbP's I DM until my daughter becomes a young teen and loses interest in hanging with me which will free up my nights in their entirety.

By then I am hoping most of the games will wind down to full completion and I will be left with one or two (notably the Vampire game you are in and I am not sure what else, maybe my Greyhawk and Dragonlance games) which I would run till I die. Then I can spend my free time writing the book that's been on my mind for about a decade now.

LOL,

OK, THAT'S a plan SS!

Run with it! :)

Heh, My daughter has already been through the 'Dad! Stop it! Your not cool and your embarrassing me!" phase of early teen-hood, then right through the "Hey, Dad's actually a pretty cool guy, who knew?" Phase.

NOW She is in the early-adulthood phase of "Roll eyes and say DAD! I'm technically an adult now! You don't have to explain everything to me! I KNOW that!" Phase, just as her brother is wading hip-deep in the "Dad! Stop It! Your not cool and your embarrassing me!" Phase of early teen-hood.

Sigh, It's deja vu all over again!
I feel like I'm singing the ending song of the Lambchop show,

"This is the song that never ends, it just goes on and on my friends,...."

;P

That song is in my head now.

I will find you....

And don't forget, when you can balance a tack hammer on your head, you will head off your foes with a balanced attack.

Right now all my gaming planning/fun is out the window because I care too much about other peoples pets...and you know the money involved.

It truly is a song that gets on everybody's nerves. Everybody's nerves. Everybody's nerves.

Scin,

Eh. After the whole scratches on chalkboard and the most annoying sound ever, this song is just mildly irritating.

What's REALLY annoying is not gaming for three weeks!

Meaning, this. :D

Police in Uniontown, PA seized an arsenal from a student's home after threats were made. A tragedy averted. Link

No doubt Thomas!

I absolutely HATE missing table top sessions. Much as I love PbP it's not an adequate substitute for sitting down at the table and gaming.

S-Shadow,

Trust me, face to face table top gaming is why I keep going in life. :p ;)

I can totally relate. I tried PbP once and I SUCKED at it. I don't play video or computer games, so F2F gaming is my last hope for a sane world.

I hope everyone has a great weekend and you get to do some dice pitchin' or something equally fun!

Mine was last Saturday. The Gaming Association of Southwest PA Game Day is generally the third Saturday of every month. Played in two Society modules and survived both. My Level 2 Ranger is one game away from third level.

hi everyone

the girl had gastritic flu and the puking washed to much of her medicine out of her body over the week, which led to and epileptic seizure and some days in hospital with my wife

meanwhile I had to stay at home with the boy who had a heavy flu

the Garage roof is leaking which will be quity costly because the old roof contains asbestos and removing and destruction will be expensive and difficult

on fridays gaming session a friend who I game with for 25 years now, told us he has been diagnosed with ALS

not the best week to have

My condolences, Aeglos. Roughly the same as my week in the hospital last June, when my tumor was diagnosed. :(

Yeah my son's been out of commission for this past week. First solid food in 3 days yesterday. He was supposed to go to a birthday party today, but 1. might still be contagious, and 2. It's a lasertag party and right now going upstairs takes a lot out of him.

This flu season is brutal.

Sorry Aeglos. Hope things get better.

I hope things get better for people. Me, I'm at least doing decently even if getting up at 6:50 am isn't something I enjoy. Nor walking a dog for almost an hour so she doesn't destroy my client's home. But eh.
At least it won't be forever. Just until Monday evening.

In other news...I need to start gaming again!

Afternoon, all. What did I miss?

So, I got a bunch of food gift cards for tips (not a bad thing to regift, people), but they are at places I don't particularly like. They're not enough to treat myself and friends, I don't want to go alone for a meal, and I don't want to use a card for myself while friends pay for their meal. Also don't want to let them go to waste.

I looked up the locations of these places in the area, and all of them have a location along one major road, between two interstates.

So my friends and I are gonna pile into one car on Saturday morning and drive down that road, stopping at each place for appetizer platters to share and trying to stick to the gift card amount, so we only pay drinks and tip. It is a movable feast, a portable tapas lunch, a traveling nosh, an appetizer progressive dinner. We'll end up at the fast food joint for dessert, because they don't have appetizers but they do have ice cream and shakes.

Should be fun, and that's what matters. ;)
