For those of you who aren't following me on Facebook, I wanted to let you know that, around the end of the month, Legendary Games will be launching a Kickstarter to support the production of the first Legendary Beginnings campaign: Trail of the Apprentice.
This five-part campaign for beginners and younger tabletop gamers ranges from character levels 1 through 5. I wrote the first four adventures and the final adventure is a collaborative effort with Mike Welham. Legendary Games will be producing D&D 5e and Pathfinder RPG versions of the adventures.
There are several other awesome people attached to the Legendary Beginnings project. We, of course, have our leaders, Jason Eric Nelson and Rachel Ventura, but we also have Linda Zayas-Palmer, Matt Goodall, and others!
I'll let you know when the Kickstarter page is ready for the public, but in the meantime, if you're so inclined, please spread the word and point folks to the Legendary Games website for information. We want to let everyone, especially parents, young gamers, and new gamers, know that Legendary Games is opening a door for the next generation of players. We've got some cool things in the works for our stretch goals, so I really hope this Kickstarter does well.

I had no idea how many unread books I have. A pleasant problem to have.
The problem is the inevitable guilt when you go by the library or bookstore or want to go by the bookstore/library and remember how much you already have to read.
Or when you look at the unread pile and see the ones you'll never read and realize how much you spent on them. However, if you make sure all your book shelves are on exterior walls, books make great insulation.
It's good for the environment!
Or so rationalizes the man who bought more books today.
Strahd for 5th edition! (except I've never played 5th edition)
And 'Disciple of the Wind'. (It's book 3 of the Fated Blades series by Steve Bein- and I enjoyed books 1 & 2- I had to get it!)
possibly I have a problem

Yeah I'm trying to go full Kindle. It's very hard. But I don't need to buy many books. I'm basically just doing a half chapter of dead tree at best a day before bed, an hour of kindle while exercising and my audiobooks while driving
I'm going electronic too. Space is at a premium in a brooklyn apartment, and as much as I love dead tree format, I want to keep with the times as much as possible.

I'm thinking long term. I'm basically already maxed out with books in my cottage. Plus, I doubt my situation will ever return to a massive library setting. Plus, I lost about 1500 books in my move. If they had been electronic it would never have been a problem.

Sounds cool, I have a 7 y/o who seems to be getting interested in gaming.

Awesome! We just posted an "event" on Facebook. We're aiming to open the Kickstarter at the end of this month and it will run until April 22nd. It's a short duration, but we have some great options for stretch goals and add-ons: a setting gazetteer, print copies for individual modules and a compilation book, pre-gen characters, a gaming kit with mapping paper, pencils, dice, and a drawstring bag, and other things. I'll be offering up my GM services to run one or more sessions of the first adventure via d20Pro, and we're talking about other stuff if things really take off.

I never go electronic for my gaming materials (sorry 3pp :( ).
I'm pretty much exactly the opposite. The COTCT remake is the first physical Pathfinder medium I plan to buy ever. The last time I bought a physical gaming object was one of the late-3.5 books, probably Bo9S or something like that.

I have some electronic stuff, but I find reading it on a tablet problematic. I also have a collector mentality, which I really need to work on. I'm hoping at some point to unpack my junk and maybe let the 3.5 and earlier stuff go. That and my extensive VtM collection. I just have no space.

The Walking Dead remains pretty brutal.
I have to give them props for being able to keep the tension up for so long. I still want to tune in every week. I'm also happy there is the spinoff coming back in April.
Nine days until Archer is back. About a month for GoT
I really need to get my stuff set for my NYC trip. I need to find a hotel room

Ok I have a provisional booking at the Holiday Inn on Delancey Str. If I'm reading the map right that's about seven blocks from the Lovecraft Bar. FHDM, CH, let me know if this is a good choice.
will check it out.
Iirc, you're on the lower east side, just outside of alphabet city. It is a colorful neighborhood, known for a lot of things that made new York famous in the 80s for all the wrong reasons. Things have changed *significantly* since then, though. As a famous visitor to this website once opined, "Where did all these white people come from?!?!?!?!?!?!"
You should be quite fine there. Things can be a bit intimidating super late at night, but you should be okay. I'll still do a real life visit in the next few days.

it will be tight, considering the part of town it is. But I'll keep eyes open for that too.
