Ok, so I'll try to be less polite, but that's very hard for me.
So.... bus trip done. Six hours in the books. I'll be taking my baloney-skin tires down the road to WHOI in a bit.
We are due for 12-18" inches of snow tomorrow... sigh
Yes, FHDM, you love snow. We get it.
I FNCKING HATE IT
HATE IT
HATE IT
It just had to snow right before I got my new tires because FNCK YOU MONKEY!
Hopefully I can make it to work tomorrow. Here's hoping.

Anyone wants to buy a kidney?
And entirely true. Piotr worked in the Video section of Tekkoshokon and was the GM for an Earthdawn campaign, in which I played.

Now it's 18-24" projected ... F. M. L.
That same system will be passing just to the southwest of here. We should only get a light dusting...enough to make everything beautiful and nothing more.
:D

2015. First permanent colony established on Moon ...
Sorry, watching Event Horizon. Because I need to stay awake O.O
Don't worry, if we're following the Babylon 5 timeline, we've still got a couple years before we get our moon colony. And we've got another 50 years if we're following the Mass Effect timeline.

Currently going through the requisite "turning off all the bells and whistles so everything actually runs smoothly" step with the new computer. Ran across this warning message: "Disabling this device will cause it to stop functioning. Are you sure you want to disable this device?" I think Microsoft thinks I'm stupid.

I just found an interesting video that put voice to some gripes I have with the newer Elder Scrolls games from a concept/design standpoint. I get that Bethesda was trying to give the world more of a grounded and realistic look, but it's possible to do that without making everything either gray or brown.
Don't get me wrong, Skyrim is a fun game (not as good as Morrowind, though, and don't get me started on the motion-sickness-inducing Oblivion), but given that the in-universe world is literally made of magic, I think they could have gotten away with more than they did, ridiculous canoe-paddle-like swords aside.

Well, about 12" on the ground now. The high winds are kicking up, and it shows no sign of letting up. I haven't heard a single plow go by, even on the main road. So I'm thinking I'm pretty much fncked. I just spent about two hours just doing a pre shovel in the hopes that it might slow down. At least that first foot is cleared from my driveway area and on part of the extended driveway

Taking into account all my IT-working friends's stories about random people dealings with computers (both hard- and software), I must say in M$'s defense, that they probably have a long history of complaints from genuinely stupid customers so they want to be on a safe(er) side.
It's still annoying, though.

We FINALLY got some snow accumulation here! And it's slippery, I had to use all my skill to keep from skidding to the ground when I went on my walk.

You guys.
I went over to my mom's house because there was a box she said that came from Paizo.
I didn't remember ordering anything from Paizo, so I didn't pay it any special attention, other than to note that this seemed to be an unsually large box for the usual end of year "thanks for buying stuff" thing they normally send. I noted there was a label on it that had been half torn off, so I didn't realize it was the box from Paizo until not too long ago when I had tons of stuff in my living room I was going through to clean up a bit.
Someone, probably the person who got me all the wonderful PDFs, also got me THE FREAKING COMBAT TIER FAMILY PACK
I AM FREAKING OUT
I AM FREAKING OUT
I AM FREAKING OUT
I HAVE ALWAYS WANTED THIS
MY GAME WILL NOW BE THAT MUCH MORE POWERFUL WHEN PLAYERS/MONSTERS FLY
I AM FREAKING OUT
I AM FREAKING OUT
I AM FREAKING OUT
I AM FREAKING OUT
I AM FREAKING OUT
I AM FREAKING OUT
I AM FREAKING OUT
I AM FREAKING OUT
I AM FREAKING OUT
I NEED TO BUY A NEW MY LITTLE PONY/HELLO KITTY LUNCHBOX TO STORE THESE AND TRANSPORT THEM TO GAME
I CANNOT THANK ANONYMOUS DONOR ENOUGH
I AM FREAKING OUT

No snow down south here in Lousy-anna, just a couple of nights where it got freakin cold (for down here. It did drop below freezing.) ;)
So, actually got to light my fireplace! What a concept for Lousy-anna! And we did SMores! My kids love me again. :) AT least for this weekend. Tomorrow they go back to school. We'll see how long the love lasts. ;P
Glad your safe Monkey-Man! Stay warm!

It was in the 40s yesterday in Orlando. Perfect for wearing my Ravenclaw scarf around Harry Potter World.

Yes!
When we went for Thanksgiving, 2015, I was actually jealous of all the kids wearing those nice, expensive, heavy-duty Harry Potter robes! ;PThey might have been too warm for the day(? Maybe?) but they would have been perfect once the sun went down! :)

I just can't justfiy $110 for two layers of solid-color fabric and a sewn-on badge. Or $50 for a plastic wand.
