Level dip into Paladin

Advice

Sovereign Court

In a month or so we will continue a game in which I have a nature mistery Oracle lvl 4 with dual curse, the group is very large (we are About 11 or 12) the whole party is L/G and i play as the buffer and life saver of those who go mindlessly to smash things without concern of his hitpoints.
The group has a few new, pretty dumb players who are constantly at the edge of death and until now i focused on make the party rerrol, heal them, buff, etc.
Im pretty tired of doing that and i want to bring something more to the table and then i remember the oradin.
The thing is the classic oradin have only one level of oracle and the rest of paladin, i have allready 4 levels of oracle (and tons of cool revelations).
My stats are currently:
Str 12
Dex 10
Con 14
Int 10
Wis 10
Cha 20
With the nature mistery i can add cha in place of dex to ac.
I was thinking on take the Sacred Shield and Mind Sword archetypes; with sacred shield i can give us a huge boost to our defenses against BBGS, plus deflection bonus to ac equal to cha and lvl 2 cha to all my saves (we are about to face a dragon and he killed many of us once, due to a partner making him ungry by trowhing a rock while he was sleeping)
Finally the Mind Arsenal would give me cha to hit a few times each day.
The thing is, is worth to make the dip? Would yo give him only two levels or maybe all the rest? Will the oracle suffer too much if giving up two levels of spellcasting?

If your goal is spell casting, then a spontaneous caster always suffers from a one level delay. A two level delay puts your spell access two levels behind enemy casters (e.g. They cast Level 4 spells to your Level 2 spells).

Your curse will also be 2 levels behind.

With those stats, you would be making a disservice to the party if you didn't stick to Oracle. As you get fatter spells, mutiny can improve your contribution as well as everyone else's.

I mean, you are about to get protection from energy! What's better than that when facing a Dragon?

Also, don't try to fix player issues with builds. Try to talk to them into allowing your Oracle to call the shots in battle in exchange for buffing them, until they get a grasp of mechanics at least.

What's better is protection from x, y, or z, communal!!!!!

People often fail to appreciate the communal spells in benefit and action economy. Especially when they see these cheap wands....

Seriously look at your spells. Any delay of access is problematic....

Ok i think i will keep getting oracle levels then, thank you!

By the way, get Resist Energy at level 5 if you think you'll be going up against a dragon!

If you wanna help in melee, get the animal companion revelation.
