Hello everyone, once again I beseech all of thee to aid me in refining a character. This once has stumped me for a couple of days now, and I'd love for some help. What I'm trying to do is create a battle oracle with the right weapon and skills for every occasion and while I've picked the perfect archetype for it (Warsighted) and mystery (Ancestor for the Ancestral Weapon revelation at level 3 so I have some flexible feats and a flexible weapon) I'm not sure what race I should pick and where I should be from. I'm also wondering if the weapon familiarity racial traits would technically allow me to use Ancestral Weapon to summon an Elven Curve Blade if I was an Elf or a Half-elf with said trait. They are treated as martial weapons for said races so I assume I would be able to, but I would love to hear the opinions of others. Oh, and I'm also trying to figure out my stat array. I can't decide if I want strength to be my most important or dexterity (if the Elven Curve Blade is a go I'll take dex into greater consideration). As it stands I don't have a backstory for this guy beyond him being from a long line of warriors and one day during a skirmish with some raiders he realized he couldn't unterstand anyone during the battle (so he has the Tongues Curse, representing his ancestors' wide variety of languages known) and that he suddenly could use some magic.

I would say that you can't summon an exotic weapon by the RAW because your making the weapon martial doesn't change the fact it's exotic, only your prof with it. That said go beg the GM. May want to look at battle mystery to see if one exotic weapon with two or three keywords would suffice for you and maximize its potential with that. Don't forget you as a elf or half elf can be ancient lorekeeper.

That's just the thing. The weapon familiary trait says the following:
Elves are proficient with longbows (including composite longbows), longswords, rapiers, and shortbows (including composite shortbows), and treat any weapon with the word "elven" in its name as a martial weapon.
This trait doesn't grant proficiency. It changes the classification of the weapons themselves, as far as that character is concerned.
So an elven or half-elven Oracle with this trait could, in fact, use the Ancestral Arms revelation to summon elven weapons that would be "exotic" for other races, because the weapons are explicitly martial weapons for those characters.

Good to see some confirmation. I think the Elven Branched Spear would be good for those times when I need to poke everything from a little farther than normal, and I certainly could use the Curve Blade to great affect if I give myself the feats for it at the beginning (any that would aid me in critical hitting enemies).

Yes, I've certainly been eyeing it for a while now. It certainly fits in with the Ancestors theme to this character so I think I might tack it on to my character. What spells would be best for a Warrior Oracle?
If you go half-elf you can use Paragon Surge. (It's been nerfed to be LESS ridiculous, but it could still be useful.)
Trust me, I've been looking at it and I am loving it.

You're going to need a Lucerne Hammer, perhaps a Glaive Guisarme. Feats like Lunge, Difficult Swings and the Improved Combat Maneuvres will be important. Medium armour is expected, though if you do go for light you can put it to being a rebellion fighter agaisnt the Hapsburg rather than an army or mercenary man from the later centuries.
Edit and on topic:
Warsighted really opens up the options. On that, I suggest building a list/block with the couple of feat groups and what they are used for. "I need to trip" "I need to defend" "I need to gain movement and still attack" etc. 2
On race, as an oracle with 2 of the most battle-flexible options I dont think it matters much. Spell selection will probably be more important.
I would chose Human and for the feat get an extra revelation or a base feat that is a requirement that comes up often for the feat lines you want to use martial flexibility.
I would also consider looking into a way of giving people around you a Teamwork feat you posses - the combination with martial flex is then a lot of fun and powerful.

I forgot about those two weapons, quite handy. Will have to start a list of weapons and appropriate feats to use with them.

While they are good weapons (I think the GGuisarme is exotic though) I was referencing Swiss Mercenaries of a few centuries back in a bit of a tongue-in-cheek manner due to the thread name. However! I wrote a more concrete answer to go with it.
A few feats to consider:
Whirlwind Attack (note: couple with Trip etc you can trip everyone around)
Whip Feats for large range
Stand Still for blocking pathways
Difficult Swings to make surrounding squares difficult terrain
Step Up And Strike chain when facing casters or slippery opponents
Blind Fight and similar for concealments
