Charge and throw net...?

Rules Questions

Simple question, is throwing a net onto an opponent an acceptable "attack" at the end of a charge?

If so, is the opposed strength check to control the trailing rope made immediately after a successful hit?

No. The charge rules state (emphasis mine) "After moving, you may make a single melee attack." The net rules you link to state "you make a ranged touch attack".

The opposed strength check is only made if the target attempts to move beyond the range of the rope.

Now there is a feat or a rage power (I forget wich) that allows a thrown weapon attack. Give me a bit to search and I may find it.

EDIT: Found it, it is Charging Hurler.

Kind of what I figured, but wanted to check other people's rules-fu.

Thanks!

Alternately: Net Adept turns it into a melee attack. I have a character with that feat who has charged with his net before to prevent someone from getting away.

The opposed strength check is made when the tangled creature tries to move farther than you want.
