Hello all,
Due to the class I'm using (3pp occultist), I have the option of getting an Eidolon equal to my lv, but with evolution points equal to half my lv. So, in my case currently, a level 7 eidolon, but with 5 evolution points. What I'm looking for help with is the best possible eidolon build for a sneaky, pick pocketing type, as I may have things that need to be absconded sometime soon.
So, here's what I'm thinking. (Note this is normal eidolon, not unchained)
Small Serpentine (higher dex and climb speed).
Evolutions:
(1) = Skilled: Stealth
(1) = Skilled: Sleight of Hand
(2) = Flight
(1) = Scent (to find things / people that might be hiding about)
Then just pour the skills into perception, stealth and sleight of hand.
Is there a better way to allocate the evolution points I have available to make what I'm looking for? I.e. A very hard to spot thief.
Edit: Plus Skill Focus: Stealth and Sleight of Hand. Just to make sure it can do what it's meant to do.
7 ranks + 3 class bonus + 3 skill focus + 8 Skilled + 4 DEX + 4 Small Size = +29 sounds like a decent bonus to stealth and sleight of hand.

What is the campaign setting for this? I'd be able to tell you more if I knew the background, then I could tell you what to go for.
I will say that Serpentine is not the best idea here; no hands for starters. You'd have to burn a point to give it arms, unless you expect it to pickpocket with its mouth (but that's if you're being technical).
I'd recommend Biped, quadruped, or Avian; if you want it to fly, then Avian is your best bet. Avian will also give you all the perks of dex that serpentine would give you. You could then throw one of those extra evolution points you get from getting free flight, and give it skilled in acrobatics as well, and low-light vision. Fly's in really quiet, grabs loot with it's claws, then takes off.
Keep in mind that you would want to keep this a close-range thief, i.e. you'd need to be nearby for him to be effective. Eidolons become less effective the further away you are, and vanish beyond 10,000 feet. (Granted, that mostly applies to combat Eidolons).

The campaign setting is modern, our world with magic and monsters hiding about in the background of everyday life. I am human, but I'm not playing a summoner though. I'm playing a 3rd party class called the occultist that has a spirit that I can bind, that gives me an Eidolon equal to my level, but at half the evolution points it'd normally get.
You gain an eidolon. You possess a summoner level equal to your binder level when determining your eidolon abilities. This eidolon has half the normal number of evolution points for an eidolon of its Hit Dice.
So, in my case, I get 5 evolution points to play with instead of 10. What I plan on using the little guy for however, is to pilfer a specific scroll like artifact and a map from some Nymphs we ran into, that made off with them. They didn't try to hurt or kill us, so I'm trying to be non-lethal and sneaky about it. I'll probably have a way to give the little eidolon a potion (or extract) of invisibility or two, to further increase chances of pilfering success.
Shadow blend and shadow form are nice, so you can stealth anywhere, but may be a bit pricy.
I shall look into them. If I go avien as Ya'akov suggests, I might be able to fit at least one.
Thanks for the input everyone.

This is the Summoning Information guide.
As mentioned previously, you're going to want Biped because actually having arms is more important than the extra dex. Small size and Skilled will more than make up the difference.
Feats can include Skill Focus Stealth at 1st HD and Hellcat Stealth at 5th HD. Thanks to the boosted stealth numbers it's practically invisible. Your evolution suggestions are alright, but skilled: perception might serve you better than stealth.

Biped it is. Maybe I'll switch out Scent with Skilled: Perception. I'm almost wondering if I'll need flying actually. Might be worth going the route where I can give it a once a day vanish. In any case, thanks everyone!

Whoops, meant to say skilled perception might be better than scent, but you picked up on it. The sensory evolutions do get pretty rad once you invest in tremorsense, and flight is great but climb can serve in a pinch. Any capacity for 3 dimensional movement is amazing for scouts.
Good luck in the game!
