For me it would be either Sarenrae (Honestly it would be her) or, for the lolz, Rovagug JUST for his Diefic Obedience!

Sarenrae, why, because I am sun loving pagan IRL, and I am both that harsh and that forgiving (I use both when called for.)

I suppose the green faith fits most closely with being a Pagan though I'd probably seek out an appropriate patron and take up witchcraft. I mean I love nature (using 'nature' here in what I would call the 'descriptive' sense as opposed to what I refer to the 'ontological' sense)and all but I also love a comfortable bed and central heating.

Hmmm, Green Faith would be really close to my actual religion, hard to say which it is.

Sivanah, as I have no idea what I am doing in life so would like a god whose goals were as mysterious to me as my own.

I wouldn't worship a deity so much as an ideal, The ideal held by the Hellknights from the Order of the Scourge. I would devote my life to the pursuit of being law to a world in turmoil. Training rigorously daily to build up enough strength, conviction and tenacity to perform the trial of the Starstone in an all or nothing bid to become the god of Law and Order.

Working together with Abdar to bring absolute Justice to the universe.

(Obviously) Milani for me. No religion like her's exists on earth so I couldn't claim it but the general outlook of Milanites (change, overthrowing tyranny, hope, etc.) very much fits in with mine. I have to imagine the church services are not unlike activist meetings. If not her, Cayden Cailiean or Desna; beer, dreams, and traveling are all things I like.

Of all the deities of Golarion I keep finding myself drawn to Milani. her four pillars:Peace, Love, Health, and Life seem to always fit my ideals, and seems more like the faith that works both within and outside of the adventuring life. Of the may goodly deities I always find some point of time when the worship would seem out of place for me or in lack of usage. bBut for her she has influence both during conflict and when the community is at peace, both in rural towns and urban cities. Plus her aphorisms speaks words to me, Know What Is Worth More Than Yourself & Find Your Hidden Strength.

Liberty's Edge

Given that I'm a fairly devout pagan in real life, my patron deity is Lady Luck, and I come out NG verging on CG on Alignment tests...I think Desna is a safe bet.

well, I would not be a cleric so I would be Panthiest. Abadar for work, Cayden when I hang out with friends, Desna before I go on a trip, etc.

I'd probably be a follower of the Whisper in Bronze. I love technology and weird little doodads and taking stuff apart and putting it back together. Hell, given my interests, I'd probably be looking into smuggling aliens and tech out of Numeria or working in a gunsmith in Alkenstar. Or just studying tech smuggled out of Numeria. Brigh's worship just... really fits me.

Come to think of it...

Spoiler:
most incarnations of Cassandalee from the end of Iron Gods would work too. Maybe not the evil ones, but... otherwise, probably, yeah.

I would go for whichever would give me the greatest benefit for worshiping, or Nyarlathotep but that's because I'm kind of a d!*k in real life. Well, liking a deity isn't the same as worshiping them so, eh. Really, I'm gonna go with Conan's whole thing about if a god wont help, then to hell with them.

Nethys, so no one can tell me what books I should be reading or how I should be using my powers.

Sarenrae. I too can get down with redemption through beat downs :)

If I were a less lazy person, I'd say Milani, because freedom is the best virtue. I suppose that'd be doubled with Cayden Cailean, though I can hardly stand most forms of alcohol.

With my more natural self, I'd have to go for Alseta or Naderi. Alseta, because change is important, among other reasons. Naderi, because I'm a hopeless romantic, and I definitely love the idea of trying to help others through that.

Barring all that, Zyphus' faith sounds fun, definitely fitting my dark sense of humor.

In the off chance that I was my favored race I would worship Daikitsu. Aside from that Desna is the deity that I feel most comes close to my ideals.

Any of the neutral Good or Chaotic Good deities would fit the bill most likely. Any Lawful deity is too ridgid for my taste.

I'd be an atheist. I'd have this type of attitude, in Golarion, all they seem to be are what man/woman is capable of becoming...if one gets lucky enough.

Cayden Cailean aside (and frankly even in his case), I'm not sure luck is really the deciding factor, there.

Urgathoa, The Pallid Princess. My number one greatest fear is, and will no doubt continue to be, to cease being and my sentience ending. Beyond that, I am rather self-indulgent, so her hedonistic ideals fit me rather well.

If I ever should archive undeath as a necromancer, I most likely wouldn't be the type that would run around, raising mindless ghouls or skeletons left or right, I would barricade myself up in a library and remain there, reading till' the world comes to an end. Other like-minded undead would be welcome.

Sarenrae, because she's awesome and super good. Plus she's got what totals up to probably be the most powerful following of a god on Golarion.

Desna and Cayden Cailean inspire a lot of hope, happiness, and optimism from my perspective.

On a side note, is Nethys the least popular god of magic in the history of role playing games?? If I had to play 10 magic users for my next 10 characters, not a single one would worship that bat***t diety.

Nethys's religion trait from Advanced Players Guide is actually quite good, though highly situational. For certain types of wizard personalities, he's a pretty good fit, and possibly worth taking just for the trait.

Shelyn, for sure. Not gonna lie: She sets my heart aflutter.

I personally like him a lot more than one of your favorites... he has the appeal of not being terribly demanding while actually offering some power in his turn.

But he's not for everyone.

Irori aligns pretty well with my interests. I like how he's living proof that discipline and dedication can let you accomplish anything.

Desna is great too, in the travel aspect. And I like looking at the stars.

Well, obviously I haven't seen polls for most or least popular deities of magic, but I at least rather like Nethys. Unlike Cayden, Iomedae, and Norgorber he became a deity without the assistance of a convenient artifact (also why I like Irori), even if the side effects are certainly somewhat undesirable, and I like how he supports the development of magic without prejudice so long as magic is being used, studied, and supported, leaving you perfectly free to do as you wish as long as you love magic. A good-aligned individual seeking to make the world a better place via magic is just as valid as a vile necromancer's experiments on helpless entities to probe the barriers between death, undeath, and life. But I can certainly understand why some people might find that very dichotomy unappealing, I suppose.

Nethys is one of one member my gaming group's favorite Gods. I think he's kinda neat, too, in an 'utterly amoral source of power' kinda way.

Shelyn, Cayden Cailean, Brigh, and Gozreh in varying capacities.

Probably Shelyn, Arshea, Nethys, and Brigh.

Either Desna or Sarenrae...

Mad respect for Shelyn, I'd like to think I'd have the moral fiber to follow her teachings or Sarenrae, but I just know I'd be one of 'those guys' who skips regular service and winces when caught by the local cleric asking how the family is and noting he hasn't seen me in awhile (hint hint hint)

Sarenrae.

Pharasma probably. Life/Death and its proper sequence is the ultimate law and one that makes sense both for my personality and frankly my ancestors (Clan MacDhuibh).

I would be really, really tempted to be monothestic. In Galorian it would be the ultimate rebellion, the utmost heresy. To believe that the gods are mortal and that they too have a god that they wouldn't tell us about.

Or better yet - a super-panthesist. A belief that the gods have multiple gods above them. Mind-bending.

Super-Panthesist-Elder God Cultist...

Ok, Imma stop now...

Probably Desna or Cayden, if I were to actually worshiper someone. I'm not a religious guy here on Earth so more than likely I wouldn't be on Golarion but if I was going to worship, it'd be one of the above two.

Interesting that you feel that way. I'm a "hardcore" atheist, but on Golarion I wouldn't be. Although, perhaps "venerate, respect, or serve" might better describe my behavior than "worship." Of course, that gets into the question of whether Golarion's gods are really capital-g Gods according to a contemporary U.S. point-of-view.

But that's another thread. :P

wants to respect the same golarion dieites as I do on earth which may be too many to list here.

Oh, that's easy. I'd have to go for Shelyn. Goddess of art, romance and beauty? PLUS she's badass enough to use her crazy half-brother's glaive? What's not to love there!

Inner Sea Faiths has convinced me that the only alternative to atheism is Groetus. If you can't beat them, join them at the end of the multiverse.

Ooh, I love this kind of discussion! For me, it would have to be either Desna or Shelyn if we're talking about the main pantheon. Desna's been my fave for a long time since I came to Pathfinder from 3.5 and other TTRPGs. I love her imagery of butterflies and the night sky, and I've been falling in love with some of her teachings, especially as presented in Inner Sea Gods. Along with that, I'm something of a world traveller and love learning about other cultures. Previously, I've mainly been attracted to moon-aspected deities like Sehanine back in the Greyhawk pantheon or Selune in Forgotten Realms, but Desna's the closest I've found in Pathfinder's main pantheon. And she's still quite awesome.

That being said, Shelyn's been starting to get my attention more, both because I consider myself an amateur artist and writer AND because I've been lucky in love recently (in a very happy and healthy long distance relationship for well over a year now). Along with that, Shelyn's story is extremely moving.

If we're counting the Empyreal Lords, I've really gotten to like a lot of them, but Ashava and Seramaydiel are my two faves. ^_^
