Severe exhaustion

Rules Questions

When fatigued character gets more fatigue - he becomes exhausted.
But what happens when exhausted character gets more fatigue/exhaustion? Can exhaustion become more severe?

As far as I know there are no specific rules for becoming more exhausted or failing to rest when exhausted or how much further one can push ones self if already exhausted. That would fall to the GM to decide.

Dead. The dead condition is more severe.

No hard rules for it.

I usually have my characters pass out if they do something like this, such as trying to do a forced march for several days.

A reasonable house rule would be to have the character go unconscious.

Beat me to it.

By rules it's capped to exhausted. I was about to say 'dead' also, but (to my understanding) exhaustion remains active after death. Nonlethal damage and the unconscious status are thematically related, but a different subsystem.

Pathfinder could use some streamlining here, for instance DSA5 has more consistant statuses handling - hence it's way easier to learn.
