So once a paladin how declared a smite is there anyway to remove a smite from a paladin?

Been trying to find something but I can't seem to find it. perhaps it does not exist?

The Warding armor property allows you to remove a challenge/smite/judgement once per day if you're the target

By changing his alignment ;)

The warding ability linked above is the only actual way I'm aware of. I have an antipaladin playing in my WotW game and he loves it.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

To remove a smite, remove the smiter. Permanently.

If you want the nuclear option, there is a 3pp stat block for Lucifer that has the ability to shift alignment with a gaze attack.

The spell Corruption Resistance reduces the effect of the smite I believe.

Geek the Paladin! Geek the Paladin!

Sorry, Shadowrun flashback...

Anti-magic fields disrupt supernatural abilities as well as spells.

Scarab Sages

Beguiling Gift + a Helm of Opposite Alignment. Although a paladin will likely make the save.

I'm sure you'll find plenty of ideas here.

Why the Paladin hate is what I want to know...

I will never understand why anyone would want to strip down, or weaken, one of the most iconic classes with one of the more (but not most, that would be LoH) abilities that has ever graced D&D/Pathfinder.

To counter this:

How do I remove a Fighter's Heavy Armor Proficiency?

I've heard goblin babies are good for removing Paladin's smite.

Uh...

Fighter's Heavy Armor Proficiency won't kill you. Smite Evil certainly will. The OP is trying to find a way for a character to survive a smiting Paladin. He is not attempting to nerf the Paladin class.

There is an easy way to survive a Paladin Smiting...

Don't be evil.

Its not an ability that is supposed to be something you can circumvent easily.

Though, I guess, if you really have to... Angelskin. Has a percentage chance to cause a Smite to fail.
