Occultist's Magic Circles and Thaumaturgic Circle

Does the Occultist's Magic Circles class feature allow you to use Thaumaturgic Circles as well?

By RAW, it doesn't seem to since the spell uses the words "functions as" while Magic Circles states "alignment". As a houserule, I wouldn't see a problem with it as you "gain the ability to create magic circles" and the same stipulations from Magic Circle Against X still apply. I'm still a bit wonky on the usefulness of the "Magic Circle Against X" spells usefulness anyways(I posted a similar Occultist question about an hour ago).

Thanks McDuff! It doesn't seem like much of a leap to me to allow it since Thaumaturgic Circle works just like these spells either.

Quite welcome! I also just realized I typed "usefulness" twice in the same sentence. Go me. :D
