Dex-Based Two-Weapon Paladin

Advice

The main idea behind this build isn't being the tankiest, or the front liner, as my party already has those roles filled. I wanted to try something different.

Paladin- 10
Human
Oath of Vengeance
17
17
14
13
12
10
With the 2 extra from leveling, and +2 from being a human I was thinking:
Str 10
Dex 20
Con 14
Int 13
Wis 12
Cha 19

Feats:
1 Dodge
1 TWF
3 Mobility
5 Weapon Finesse
7 Spring Attack
9 Lunge

I think a Kukri will be cool to use as it will crit my Smite Damage.

This is not the most optimal build for TWF, I could go fighter, but I have some reasons for going Paladin:

1. Wrath, Litany of Righteousness, Blessing of Fervor, Order’s Wrath
2. My party needs a "voice of reason" sometimes
3. Using Powerful Justice, I can give more DPS to our ranged

So, use Wrath, Litany of Rihteousness, smite, and go to town on some bad guys with the help of Luge and spring attack, never being touched. Next level I can always move next to the majority out of danger next to my ranged friend and give him some extra DPS.

Anything I can improve on? My entire group has very good characters and I haven't been able to compete.

IMHO not with it to go Dex-based. Two-Weapon Rend wants the STR.

Also, I recommend the Divine Hunter archetype and using weapons with a throw range, like starknives.

Very good as in how good?

Are you building straight from level 10?

Make sure to get Agile weapons. If you can spare the feats, get Weapon Focus and Piranha Strike.

Spring Attack is bad, especially with a Two Weapon Fighter, especially on a class with no bonus feats, especially with a class whose main source of bonus damage applies per-attack. Also, in the order you have your feats, why are Dodge and Mobility (both mediocre at best) a higher priority than being able to hit the target?

If you want to make a Dex Paladin you're best off with Dervish Dance (single Scimitar). As far as I know the only way to get both Dex-to-damage and Two Weapon Fighting as a Paladin would be to use dual Rapiers with Fencing Grace and put an Effortless Lace on one of them, or use dual Agile weapons.

We had a party wipe and are picking it back up at the level where we left off- 10. Very good as in we had someone able to 1v4 level 14th wizards, a Druid :D

What classes and builds?

Are you talking about the spell Wrath? If so its an inquisitor only spell.

I would forget spring attack and lunge and go further down the TWF line. TWF is hard to do because its a feat intensive build and paladins dont get that many feats.

You get it through the Oath of Vengeance. Also I'm going to make a Fighter version now, to see what numbers turn out better :D

The Fighter's offense will turn out better (versus a Paladin who's not smiting), but his defenses and utility are much, much worse.

Consider something like this:

H: Weapon Finesse
1: TWF
3: Weapon Focus (Rapier)
5: Fencing Grace
7: Improved TWF
9: ???
11: Greater TWF

Make sure one rapiers has an Effortless Lace on it, and keep a spare one around just in case. It may be worth your while to make them Adamantine to make them harder to break.

Why are you making such builds.

Do you intend to make me cry.

Get some strength, get good armour, save yourself the feats.

Here's a TWF Pally:

Dual Talent Human
S14+2 D15+2 C12 I13 W8 CH14

Traits: Wasteland Hunter, Ulfen Weapon Training

Feats:

1. TWF

3. Double Slice

4. +1 DEX

5. Unsanctioned Knowledge

7. Improved TWF

8. +1 STR

9. Critical Focus

Pick up the Divine Hunter archetype for free Improved Precise Shot and Deadly Aim, use Divine Bond to grant your throwing axes the Returning enhancement.

You'll have a Paladin who can switch hit, TWF in melee and provide a ton of team utility.

Where do those traits (Wasteland Hunter and Ulfen Weapon Training) come from? I cannot seem to find them on d20PFSRD or Nethys.

I see the point in a TWF Paladin. Between Divine Favor, Wrath, and Smite he does get a lot of +/+.
However, Divine Bond works only for one weapon and you still want dex2dam. Since dual-rapier looks kinda funny, I see no better way than to buy two agile kukris (or dip three level unchained rogue).
If you took VMC Fighter, Armor and Weapon Training will help a lot. And you can still get the feats you need:
1: Weapon Finesse
5: TWF
9: Imp TWF

you won't need critical focus, if you can keep up Bless Weapon...
and don't forget the Silver Smite Bracelet

Use Archives of Nethys, especially if you PFS.

Ulfen Weapon Training comes from ISR, which isn't uploaded yet as far as I know. It adds +1 damage with certain weapons.
