Bestiary: New creatures to terrorize your PCs! Each creature counts as a separate submission. Submission size: 750 words per creature. However, because multiple creatures are combined to form a single bestiary article, smaller entries will be considered as long as they are complete. (i.e., 750 words is the upper limit for bestiary entries, rather than a hard target. See the Pathfinder RPG Bestiary for examples of proper formatting and content.)

I hope not, because I'm just finishing up "The Hundred Cuisines of the Hundred Kingdoms: Food of the River Kingdoms" for submission in the next few minutes!

I'm surprised that #12 was so low. That's the Osirion Wayfinder, and it's been instrumental to my Mummy's Mask campaign. The Side Trek Seed in there by Bran Hagger and/or Cole Kronewitter in which the ancient little girl had been trapped for thousands of years in the forgotten tomb? My players really ran with it. She's a fully fleshed out NPC now and probably their favorite one in the game.

Looks like #15 will be 3rd place in total submissions, at least based on the numbers I've been able to track down, so I don't think there's any need to worry about waning interest in Wayfinder fanzine at this point.

Yes, with ancient Egypt being rather popular and offering bounds of real world inspiration for ideas, I wouldn't have expected a drop there. I wonder if the Katapesh/Qadira issue right before it at #10 might have cannibalized some ideas that would have otherwise been submitted for Osirion.

This comment offers some insight. Also, odd numbered issues are the printed Paizocon issues, so I'd expect that they'd be more popular.

And....that's a wrap, folks. We ended up with about 108 submissions total at the arrival of 2016. This should be plenty for us to form a FINE issue on the River Kingdoms. Many thanks to all of you that got your submissions in under the wire, and good luck to you as we now begin our review of these for the issue.
HAPPY NEW YEAR from Wayfinder!

You'll have to ask Liz about what she ended up with for #4. I took over at #5.
It's interesting to see the numbers jump after #8, our Gold ENnie winner. I'd always wondered if the ENnie got us more followers.....
Thanks for taking the time to find all these tallies! I appreciate it!
I can't seem to pm her. Not sure why. Maybe it's turned off so the paizo staff don't get spammed. Edit: found an email.
Can you clarify the number on Wayfinder #6? Your post said 41, but someone else said 49, so I'm wondering if they're just mistaken or the 41 wasn't the final tally.

Wow, thank you Duiker! (I'm the first author you listed and wrote that particular Side Trek Seed.) That was my first entry to Wayfinder and it received significant improvement from whichever great editor edited it. Glad to see someone found it useful.

I guess it helped, but the growing tendency was already started. The ENnies wasn't awarded until 9th or 10th issue?
It looks like the #11 hike might have been direct result of ENnie.

Personally, I'm hoping for another non-area related theme. Something like... fey. :3
But... it might be a bit early to tell. After all, they probably have yet to really begin reading anything.
I'll be honest, those open themes are a challenge to keep on track, since the openness allows for a wide variety of interpretation on the theme. That's why we don't do them all the time.
I'm pleased at how the Monster issue turned out, though. Early on, I had my concerns, since the term "monster" meant different things to different people. It took a lot of clarifying posts to steer it closer to what we were looking for. It was a lot of extra work!

Perpetual theme wishlist:
Specific/national areas: Numeria, Andoran, Nex & Geb, Alkenstar & the Mana Wastes, Galt, Taldor, the Worldwound & Mendev, Hold of Belkzen & Lastwall
Broad areas and region-limited subjects: Southern Garund, Inner Sea crime, Crown of the World, Tian Xia, Triaxus, Akiton, Shadow Plane
General themes: Dungeons, Elements & Elemental Planes, Gods & Religions, metaphysics & occult magic (planes & demiplanes, planar rifts, portals, Blackfire, ley lines, extradimensionality, the River of Souls), Armies & War, Schools & Academies

Trying to predict the theme of Wayfinder #16. There's still a number of regions that aren't covered yet, so I'm restricting all my guesses to regions instead of more open themes like monsters. These are just my personal guesses, so obviously this is all unofficial. It's likely I've missed some relevant products for each region, and obviously Inner Sea Primer and Inner Sea World Guide are relevant to most regions.
======================================================================
Starting with some unlikely candidates:
Crown of the World
*Jade Regent #3 is the only adventure/article on the region.
I'm personally fond of arctic themes, but this seems more like Wayfinder #61 than #16.
Realm of the Mammoth Lords
*3 adventures, but all are PFS Scenarios.
*People of the North touches on the region.
This seems to be a popular region, but there aren't any non-scenario adventures and it's not overly developed, so it doesn't seem likely. Maybe if there's an 'arctic' themed issue combining the above two regions it might work, but Wayfinder #6 somewhat overlaps an arctic theme.
=======================================================================
Next, some candidates that could happen for #16, but which don't strike me as being top of the list.
The Shackles
*There's an adventure path and module set here, so plenty of adventures.
*Isles of the Shackles, Faction Guide, Ships of the Inner Sea, and Pirates of the Inner Sea are all relevent.
It's a little close in theme to Wayfinder #8, so it might be a bit till another pirate related issue.
Numeria
*There's the Iron Gods adventure path (plus 2 scenarios), so plenty of adventures.
*Numeria, Land of Fallen Stars, Technology Guide, Dungeons of Golarion, People of the Stars, and People of the River are all relevant.
It's really close to the River Kingdoms (the theme of #15) and was even technically part of the River Kingdoms once iirc. Based on this comment I'd guess it'll be a couple of issues before we see Numeria, but it shouldn't be too many.
Dragon Empires
*Jade Regent #4-6, The Ruby Phoenix Tournament plus a good number of PFS Scenarios scattered throughout, so plenty of adventures.
*Dragon Empires Primer and Dragon Empires Gazetteer are both relevant.
This is a real wild card imo. Being a continent, it covers a lot of regions.
Sargava
*Serpent's Skull #1+#2 and a few scenarios, so there are some adventures here.
*Sargava, the Lost Colony is the only relevant sourcebook.
Ire of the Storm is coming out in April, so there's the possibility of some overlap with this issue. Plus Wayfinders tend to bring up regions that haven't been covered in a while, so despite this region being a bit overdue (imo) it may have to wait because of Ire.
Hold of Belkzen
*Giantslayer AP + Daughters of Fury are set here, along with Skeletons of Scarwall.
*Orcs of Golarion, Bastards of Golarion, Giant Hunter's Handbook, Giants Revisited, Castles of the Inner Sea, Towns of the Inner Sea, and Belkzen, Hold of the Orc Hordes are all relevant.
While it was mentioned as part of the theme of Wayfinder #5, it has been developed a lot since then. Giantslayer is somewhat recent as an AP, so I think it may be a few issues before we see Belkzen.
Taldor
*3 pathfinder modules, plus one 3.5 module, lots of scenarios, but no APs unless you count Snows of Summer starting there.
*Taldor, Echoes of Glory, Cities of Golarion, and Faction Guide are all relevant.
Taldor is a little overdue for some lovin' imo. The only reason that I don't think it's a top candidate for #16 is that there are some stronger and more popular regions.
=======================================================================
Finally, the strongest candidates for #16 (imo).
Andoran
*A number of 3.5 PFS Scenarios and pathfinder Scenarios + Realm of the Fellnight Queen, plus a good string of 3.5 modules around Falcon's Hollow: Hollow's Last Hope, Revenge of the Kobold King, Tower of the Last Baron, Treasure of Chimera Cove, Carnival of Tears, Crown of the Kobold King, Into the Haunted Forest, and Hungry are the Dead. Plus Guardians of Dragonfall, so there's a ton of adventures set in Andoran.
*Andoran, Spirit of Liberty, Pirates of the Inner Sea, Knights of the Inner Sea, Guide to Darkmoon Vale, Faction Guide, Dungeons of Golarion, Towns of the Inner Sea, Ships of the Inner Sea, and finally Andora, Birthplace of Freedom are all relevant, so no lack of source material to draw on.
Andoran is better developed than Taldor, so less likely than Taldor to have anything being negated by future Paizo works. It lacks an AP, but has an adundance of adventures.
Worldwound + Mendev
*Wrath of the Righteous AP and The Demon Within, so a number of adventures.
*Demon Hunter's Handbook, Mythic Origins, Faction Guide, Lords of Chaos, Lost Cities of Golarion, Lost Kingdoms, Castles of the Inner Sea, The Worldwound, Demons Revisited, and Mythic Realms are all relevant.
Mythic rules aren't everyone's cup of tea, but I don't see them as being absolutely required for crunch articles for the Worldwound. I suppose a mythic themed Wayfinder is possible, but outside of that this is the best bet for mythic crunch articles to be submitted to.

...Andoran...
...Worldwound + Mendev...
I agree these would make the best location-based themes for Wayfinder #16. And, of the two, I think the latter (i.e., Worldwound/Mendev) is strongest, because it'll present opportunities to play around with the geography/history of that location, demons (perhaps as counterpoint to all the devil-themed stuff that showed up in the Cheliax-themed Wayfinder #11), and mythic content. That way, even the last part (i.e., mythic rules) can be explored alongside a variety of other elements associated with the Worldwound area of Golarion rather than it having to be a standalone theme of its own. Also, in addition to the inspiration listed for Worldwound/Mendev, there are multiple novels set there (e.g., The Worldwound Gambit, Liar's Blade, and King of Chaos), so even the fiction authors should have some examples to follow or build upon.
But that's just my two cents,

I almost put Sargava on my list but I'm not sure there's quite enough for a full issue. But it might work as part of an issue on the colonies, holdings, and disputed parts of Cheliax (Sargava, Isger, Pezzack, Vyre, Khari, and its Arcadian colony) that might not have been a good fit for WF #11.

Another point in favor of the Worldwound: There's an Adventure Card Game base set for it, and we've taken ACG scenarios as articles before.

There was also a jump at #7. #3 / #4 / #5 / #6 all had 40 something submissions. Then issue #7 jumped up to 69, ie. a ~50% increase from the previous 4 issues. Not sure if it was the Varisian theme.

I essentially have a bunch of stuff ready to go for Mendev/Worldwound, since I've been running Wrath of the Righteous for a while (since it came out, in fact). I've got stuff prepared for Numeria as well, since I have to start Iron Gods soon.
I'll take a stab at anything, though. I made something for this, after all, and I started out with no inspiration whatsoever.

I think the occult themed one sounds neat, since that's both broad enough to have a lot of stuff to talk about, but still specific enough that it has a core thematic component to it. Fey would be similar in that sense.
But I do tend to like the regional ones better since I like digging into the fluff of a particular area and just soaking it in. Like Kalindlara I've got a bunch of Numeria content already prepared (I ran it last year, with a lot of modifications and self-generated content).
