GM Crucible |

I'm considering opening up a table to follow this adventure. (To begin about a week after whenever this adventure finishes.)
Are there any preferences for follow-on scenarios? (CORE) I'm considering
* 6-18From Under the Ice
* 0-04 The Frozen Fingers of Midnight
* 5-08 Confirmation (Evergreen!)
* 0-08 Slave Pits of Absalom
* 6-08 Segang Expedition
This group would have preferential priority in a follow-on table.
The reason I ask now is that tables need to be registered early for GM support. Registering another table for the Gameday is also another chance for "convention" boons.
The intention would be to finish before Siege of the Serpents starts November 5th ... so both Icebound Outpost and any follow-ons would have to be a fast to squeeze it in. I think it's quite doable with daily posting.

Doodle has just finishedThe Confirmation, so that one is out for me. I think all the others should be fine for me.
I'll also have a chronicle from We Be Goblins applied to her, so she will be one xp away from second level.
This is Gerald's sorcerer.

GM Crucible |

So far, then, our best list is:
* Segang Expedition
* Under the Ice
... not everyone has checked in, so it's possible everyone will have at least one conflict.

Both are good for me, although Ledt will be level 4, so I do not know if he is a good match for the group.
Your call!!

GM Crucible |

There was one player unspecified, Ledt, and the level 4 still kept the Average Party Level below two. So as long as the last character is 1 or 2, you're fine.
Of course, it's up to you.

GM Crucible |

Sounds like a plan. I'll write it up.
EDIT: Done.

GM Crucible |

We are close enough to the Gameday that I think we can start mustering.
1. Please report the character you plan to use, so I can start prepping based on Average Party Level.
2. Go ahead and dot the Gameplay thread, so I know who I need to track down.
Looking forward to the game!

![]() |

Ledt just leveled to 4 this week.
I deleted my Gameplay dot post, but I am properly registered and tracking the thread.

![]() |

I have a Level 1 Core Cleric and a Druid. I'll pick my Druid for this.
Oops, turns out I want Meredith for a different Core Scenario. I'll bring in my Cleric, instead. Sorry about the confusion!

GM Crucible |

Welcome to my CORE table!
As we get things underway, please do a player post:
* Player name
* Character name
* PFS ID#
* Faction
* Day job roll (or other downtime)
If you haven't already, also head over to the Gameplay thread and introduce your character.
We will get started late Saturday evening (19th). I'm in the U.S., Eastern time zone. I check in at least three times a day (late morning, early evening, late evening), although I that doesn't mean I post each time.
This scenario can be a bit combat heavy (at least, it was last time I did it), so it may seem like slow going. Please commit to at least posting once/day. I know weekends can be a bit slow for many. If you're out the entire weekend and we're in combat, you may wish to ask another player to bot for you.
I'm relatively new to PFS, and still working on my first star. (Which I should earn by the end of Gameday!) Some of you are repeat customers for me, so I can't be all that bad.
I love to see role-play and inter-character banter. I will also occasionally drop in literary or movie references so bonus points for calling those out.
If you have any questions about rulings, feel free to PM me or bring them here to the discussion thread.
Let's have a great time!

Thanks for the opportunity Crucible!
I have found for PbP the most important is possibly to keep the pace, whatever the style of playing you like.
As for Ledt, he is not in a sweet point so he being level 4 will probably not be a problem, as he is basically a non-optimized support character right now (his only level 2 spell, web, might be noted perhaps, we will see).
Regarding his personality, he is Diplomatic and cooperative, but he is quite serious for a halfling and has an 'sparkling' personality, so you might see me playing he sharp, but mostly because he do not like people making him to lose time. You will see he is a nice one even if sometimes he might cut a dissertation and go straight to the solution.
Good fun everybody!

@GM - My last credit was a GM credit, but I purchased a wand of CLW at the end of my last mission, and a wand of Shield post GM credit - is that allowed? If not, I would like to add it to this session. 2 prestige points in each case...
Thanks!

GM Crucible |

Sounds fine. Remind me when it comes time for Chronicles to make sure it gets recorded.

GM Crucible |

Just so there's no confusion, yes, there will be seven people at this table.

GM Crucible |

It's 19 Sept somewhere (*cough*, Australia, *cough), so let's get started!

GM Crucible |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |

While out of combat, I will use the "rule of 2", meaning if two people say the party will do something (and there is no quick dissent), the party does that thing.
It's a convenience for Play-By-Post to keep things moving.
When in combat, we will necessarily be waiting for players to move (although I'll try to cluster players, and clusters can go in any order). If you haven't moved after 24 hours, you will be delayed, run away, or whatever else I decide, unless you made previous arrangements (asking a player to bot you during your weekend camping trip, for example).

I somehow can't edit the map, I think it's the mobile.
Goodle draw does not allow hand devices editing. That is one of the advantages of Google slides, if you install the app, you can edit maps. But there is no app for Google draw.

GM Crucible |

Good to know. I picked Draw becuase this map is so big, but I'll know to use Slides in the future when I can.

Ahaha, doodle is the worst at things. In the confirmation, she fell off the log crossing the river and came really close to drowning without party intervention. No she is rolling down and falling on the icy bridge, lol.

![]() |

Actually I'm using a 'hybrid' tablet with Windows 10 and Edge, maybe it's just the new browser Google doesn't like. Will install Firefox tonight and see if it's working.

![]() |

I fear you will have the same problem (Firefox in my Android tablet has the same issue). The problem is how browsers manage the drag event. They cannot know you are trying to drag an element, they always try to move the page for you instead of the selected object.
That is why you need the app :)

![]() |

I managed to handle it by clicking on it and moving it with he keypads. My tablet has an attachable keyboard with trackpad.
Is there an app for Windows?

![]() |

Ooops! Sorry, I did not realise the Docs pattern does not fit to current spells patterns.
Your placement decision seems fine to me, thanks!

![]() |

About dismissing the web:
I recommend to hold outside and face only the enemies that reach to the edge, and hit from safety range those that do not want/can move closer.
Most relevantly it holds the slaves so we do not have to fight them.
Remember fire removes the webs, just in case you really want to go through and have a low escape artist skill.

![]() |

Only burns the 5-foot squares affected by the fire area or the fire melee attack ;)

![]() |

So, Just dismiss this spell. It is more hinder us than them.

![]() |

Why do you think so Yâble?
Without the spell the slaves will swarm over us while the master slaver will keep hitting us with the whip and the caster will be able to cast his spells.
Now we are all 7 just vs a panther.
If the master wants to use his flaming blade against us he will have to come and face our melees.

![]() |

Yeah but our melee can't come closs either and give them cover. But it is me, i hate control spell to be like i double edge sword.
I remember a moment where the same spell became a shield for the enemy caster be cause he had win the spell.

Oh! I kept thinking horse and similar "large" creatures were 2x1 squares instead of 2x2. Now researching a bit and double checking the tables that induced me to think so, I discover that is probably something from past 3.0 editions that somehow get stuck in my mind and games! :D
The squeezing rules you are calling seems fine to me.
As for the web, I feel it is really working in our side even if we cannot launch our strongest melee attacks.
That said, I do not want to work against the fun of my game companions. Thus if most of the party is really hating this, just let me know. Ledt is a bit crazy guy, but if most people clearly request it he will certainly spend his next standard action to dismiss the web.

![]() |

Evarice would rather keep them in the web so she can ARROW things (although she's missed 2/3 shots so far...)

GM Crucible |

No problem. I thought similarly until I made the same mistake a little while ago. Yes, it's a holdover from 3.0 (and even 3.5, I think), but was removed in Pathfinder because long/thin Large/Giant/Huge creatures imply facing, and PF actively tries to avoid facing rules. It's a simplification that doesn't always make sense (e.g., giant worms, snakes), but at least this way its consistent within the rules structure.
Just imagine the horse constantly turning to it's attacker, using the full space over the course of a round, even if it doesn't realistically occupy all of it at any specific moment in time.

![]() |

I too am pleased about Pathfinder's size and space change. It implied too much spacing, and I always imagined the foe wasn't standing still but rather turning, feinting and making practice swings before you made the attack roll.
Otherwise I have to think the horse stands still for 6 seconds, attacks once, then attacks again. That's even more bizarre to me.

![]() |

What are your thoughts about the T pattern I have drawn in the map? I am not sure if only L is possible to fire from a corner. I have tried to see if the T pattern can only be fired from an edge or it is also allowed from a corner.
The burning hands there would had also burnt the webs.
It is just curiosity, I prefer to maintain a lower profile.

GM Crucible |

I'mm not sure I agree with the T pattern from a corner. I think it would be more appropriate from a straight direction.
