Charged Twice for Shipping

My first card was charged - with shipping for full amount and then I added in my new card and it charged me for shipping again. What is going on here?

Hi Andrew,

The first attempt on your card should not be a charge that will be finalized. It looks like your card was being declined by our credit card processing system because it was not passing the address verification check. This means that there was something different between the billing address that was listed for the card on our site compared to what your bank has on file for you, so our card processor declined it for security reasons. While your bank may be willing to open the transaction as a pending authorization, we will not be able to finalize any charges through that. Because we do not finalize charges until items are processed for shipping, these are just temporary authorizations that will expire from your account. The new card information looks like it should be good.
