In the spirit of the Phantom, the Crow, and more than a few westerns, an archetype that trades your Alter-Ego for a life before...
Revenant Revenger
The Revenger doesn't have an alter-ego like other vigilantes. Instead, they have an old life and some traumatic event put them on or over death's door. But sometimes justice, or vengeance, is stronger than death.
Remnants of Before:
Whatever event put you in death's embrace has left you profoundly changed. You are simply not the person you were before, so much so that the people you knew will no longer remember you. You may try to reclaim that past, but every effort you make to do so puts the people you knew in danger. This ability replaces Seamless Guise.
Remnant Talents:
Your brush with death has changed you and your relationship to everyone you knew before. But when much is taken away, sometimes much is given as well. Starting at 1st level, and every 4 levels thereafter, you gain a Remnant Talent. Unless otherwise noted, a talent can be selected only once. Some talents require you to meet other prerequisites before they can be chosen, such as possessing another social talent or attaining a minimum level. Once a talent has been chosen, it cannot be changed. This ability (and the following talents) replaces Social Talents.
Knocking on Death's Door(Su):
You died once and it has left you more resilient. You gain a +2 bonus on saves vs death effects and on stablization checks.
Memories of Before(Ex):
You may no longer be the person you once were, but you still know what they knew. You gain a +2 competence bonus on one Craft or Profession skill and a +2 competence bonus on one Knowledge skill.
Death's Cold Touch(Su):
When you crossed over and came back the experience marked you, so much so that everyone you encounter can sense it. They may not be able to explain it, but your presence unsettles others. You gain a +2 on Intimidate checks to demoralize, but a -4 on all Diplomacy and Perform checks.
Old Contacts(Ex):
You've managed to make contact with some of your friends from before and convince them of who you are (or, at least, were.) Within your area of Renown you gain a bonus on Diplomacy checks made to gather information equal to 1/2 your vigilante level.
In addition, if you want, you can task your friends to help cover for you by spreading false tales of your location and activities to others. This has the effect of increasing the DC of Diplomacy checks made to gather information about you and Survival checks made to you by an amount equal to 1/2 your level. This lasts for 1 day, and can be used only once per week.
Finally, once per week, you can ask your allies to perform a minor task for you. This usually involves delivering a message, purchasing a piece of mundane gear worth 100 gp or less (which you must pay for), or retrieving an object owned by you (that would be easily accessible by the ally). This task might take other forms as well, subject to GM discretion, but can never involve combat or danger. You must be at least 3rd level and possess the renown talent to select this talent.
You may also choose from Renown, Great Renown, and Incredible Renown.
