That's fine, I was just simply stating that it would be nice if something like that was still going since we have such a overwhelming response of people who want to play.

IMPORTANT UPDATE!!!!

I just met with the GM of Scotty's to go over the event, and there are some significant changes you need to be aware of.

First, and most importantly, all PFS games at Scotty's must end by 5 p.m. - there will be NO evening slot.

Second, because of renovations, some of the tables we have are in the bar area, and pursuant to Indiana law, anyone and everyone sitting at those tables must be at least 21 years or older - no exceptions. I will be updating the Warhorn so that it is clear which tables are 21 and up. I hope to have that schedule updated in the next couple of days.

One of the benefits is that we'll pick up an extra table in the morning AND the afternoon, but those will be in the bar area. As well, we may get the use of a private room, but only from 3 p.m. - 7 p.m., and if we do, I'll see if I can get a couple of really short scenarios to put in there.

I am also going to email this to those who are registered for the event.

Thanks for your overwhelming interest in this event - it'll be great!!!!

Ok, thanks for the update, Mark.

Although what was the reasoning behind no PFS after 5 p.m? I just wonder if Scotty's is tiring/not being as open as it has in the past in regards to the PFS events.

I am grateful to them in allowing us to play there, but I hope it's not now because they feel they need to, but that they want us there. I hope we haven't overstayed our welcome.

If I had to bet, it's a just a business decision - I can't blame him. I don't think it's the case that we have overstayed our welcome - Dave has already published online the Pathfinder-themed menu; last year, he also had give-aways (battle mat place mats, dice, etc., though I did not ask about this year) He's going to open the place for us at 8 a.m., 3 hours earlier than normal, to start playing (though food service will not start until 9 a.m.)

So, on the whole, I think it's just a business decision. And, we actually only lose ONE table in the whole deal (because now that the area has opened up a bit, we pick up an extra table in the morning and afternoon slot). As well, we may pick up a big table in the private room (from 3 p.m. - 7 p.m.), so that's a net gain for us.

As I see it, while we can't play past 5 p.m. (and last year, that was the rule for all tables but 3 of them), we actually have the possibility to come out ahead on the number of tables.

Just found this year's Scotty's menu on IndyDave's facebook page
here

Yes, that makes sense. This will be my second year at Scotty’s and really had a good time last year, so I hope it is an event that continues for quite some time.

Thanks for the quick response.

No problem, Hobbun, and you're welcome. I'll get a schedule worked out. :-D

3/5

Um... Whats that do to the 3 parter?

It means that Part 3 won't go off at Scotty's.

3/5

Is it worth keeping parts 1 and 2 then? I'd hate to potentially lose my slots in the shake up, but at the same time it'll be hard to get people to run just the 3rd part at another non-related event. Or perhaps the 3rd could be run elsewhere? Just trying to figure out how to move things around at this point, I understand that this decision was out of your hands.

3/5

Unless of course Dave wouldn't mind letting us keep a single table for the evening slot. ;) I appreciate what we're given, and I'm not trying to get you to push for it, but I figured I'd mention it as an option if you feel like he might go for it based on your discussions with him.

Horizon Hunters 4/5 5/5 *** Venture-Lieutenant, Indiana—Indianapolis

No, there are no tables going past 5 p.m., except for the private room which we might get until 7. There is no way to work all three parts into the new schedule.

I am not going to cancel parts 1 and 2, because I already have so many people signed up for them.

I know this isn't what had been planned, and I am sorry that it panned out this way, but we'll just make the most of it and still have a great time just the same!

Though, there are people talking about playing later on Wednesday night elsewhere - maybe someone would be willing to run Part 3 as one of those games?

Well we can always invade the food court at the mall... Scions of the Skykey P3 the Battle of Circle Center! Thats what I want the headlines to say when I'm finally arrested.

Heh, I think I'm going to bring my camera to take pictures of that!

In my experience all of the scions series tend to run on the short side. If the players and GM are the same for all 3 parts, it's actually completely possible (IMO) to run all 3 in 2 slots.

(IIRC all 3 ran in under 3 hours down here all 3 times we've run them with part 1 averaging closer to 2.25 hours and part 3 being the longest at about 3.25 - though I could be off)

Edit: Nevermind, looks like there is a bunch of turnover (in players and GMs) between sessions.

Don't know if they're open late enough or if we can 'loiter'. Totally up for it if we could arrange it somehow though!

Horizon Hunters 4/5 5/5 *** Venture-Lieutenant, Indiana—Indianapolis

The mall closes at 9:00 p.m. Exceptions are the movie theatre, and I think a few of the restaurants at street level (like PF Changes, Granite City, etc.)

I suppose it's possible that they would have extended hours during Gen Con, but I don't know for sure.

Lantern Lodge 1/5

I intend to find space in the hotel, as there's usually 'open gaming' areas in a few of them throughout the weekend. Usually tough to nail down ahead of time though.

I'm thinking my best bet may be to just set up a game through the PFS scheduler here, or maybe on Warhorn, and then exchange phone numbers with the interested players so we could communicate on where to meet.

Horizon Hunters 4/5 5/5 *** Venture-Lieutenant, Indiana—Indianapolis

I have update the Warhorn, so you'll be able to see which tables will require you to be 21 or over.

Also, because of the changes, I was able to sneak in a 2nd six-person table of The Darkest Abduction in the 12:30 p.m. - 5 p.m. slot, so it looks like everyone who was waitlisted for that game will be seated (but I'm going to be honest - 6 people will be VERY tight on space, trust me.)

I need to work on filling an extra table I have in the morning slot, and also in the back room (3 p.m. - 7 p.m., but that most likely will be Silverhex and the Adventure Card game, or something else that is quick.)

I appreciate everyone's patience as I try to adjust the schedule.

Thanks, everyone!

IF you signed up to play #5-20 the Sealed Gate at Scotty s in the slot at 5pm send me a PM with your email. I think I have a GM for a game at another location. Please don't respond to this thread

Thanks

Mike

I notice the Adventure Card game is offered. I've been wanting to try this for awhile. Two quick questions:

1) Do you already need to know how to play?

2) If no to 1, what does a noob need to bring to play; does everyone bring there own deck or is it all self contained?

Thanks in advance for answering my noob questions.

Thanks in advance for answering my noob questions.

1) You don't need to know how to play, but looking over the rules in advance can save you some time at the table, and I think the rules booklets are availabe here on the paizo website for free here.

2) Anyone playing the Adventure Card Guild will need a Class deck found here or at your FLGS.

Silver Crusade 4/5

Thanks! Might grab a deck, read the rules, and give it a try.

Dark Archive 4/5

Im willing to run Core Emerald Spire levels 2 and 3 at my hotel room after the second slot at Scotties is over if people are interested just PM me, and we can get it set up. I have a suite so it should be able to fit 7-8 people comfortably.

4/5 ****

Alright. I've had several people I want to play with that missed the Scotty's offerings so I'm tryingg to put together my own afternoon table (with morale officers and blackjack?)

I have 5 + 1/2 awesome players (Please PM me with your email if you want in and I'll let you know if we have space or not as soon as we have everybody's schedule sorted out), hoping to play 6-23 The Darkest Vengeance (7-11).

Our current plan is to meet at the downtown Marriott hotel at 1:45, find a table (there was plenty around last year) and play till ~7 with a break in the middle to allow people to pick up badges.

Are you interested in GMing for an awesome group on Wednesday afternoon? Please let me know ASAP. I'm sure we can come up with some appropriate bribery.

Thanks!

3/5

Just an update ... I've logged onto WarHorn tonight and I see that some people have dropped out of games and there are openings in the morning slot. If you think you can make it, you might be rewarded if you place yourself as the first 'waitlisted' player. I'm no one official, and there are no guarantees.

Silver Crusade 5/5

My group had to drop from the AM slot of Darkest Vengeance, so there are currently two open spots for it, one of the people driving with me hasn't had the opportunity to drop yet.

I'm willing to open my room at the JW for Scion 3 if absolutely necessary, please let me know? I'd like to get the series done (I have a character that's in a 'niche' position -- two more modules left to play at level 5, and Scions is 1-5... and I already got #1 at a local gaming convention...) This would be probably around 5 or 6 or so if that happens?

4/5

Mitch Anderson, you are off the waitlist for Tapestry's Toil.

I had to work much latter than expected, so Mitch can have my seat, I can get some sleep, and my afternoon group will benefit from a more alert GM.

4/5 ****

Thanks for the heads up eric. I just let Mitch know and he's super excited.

4/5

Oh good. I'm glad the message got to him. I'm just bummed that I won't get to play with you again, Rob. It looks like it would be a great table.

4/5 ****

One day things will work out... one day.

4/5

Mark, thank you for putting together an excellent event. I had a great table of players and we had a great time. I even got to go "full diva" on my players, so what more could a GM ask for?

As a player, would like to second Eric's comments.

That was a nice tranquil yet fully entertaining way to start the convention. Well... until The Ice Pirates came on... but there was no control over that... =p
