Pathfinder Adventure Card Game General Discussion

I haven't been able to play and therefore buy the season of shackles adventures, I know that drivethru now has cards to go along with the senarios, but as far as the senarios are concerned, they are a little pricey for me, so im curious as to if they will ever be available bundled together for a overall cheaper price, or if they will ever be available to subscribe to and get discounts on? thanks

The cards that go with the scenarios are not necessary; you can just print the scenarios and use proxy henchmen / villains as the scenario explains.

The scenarios are bundled in adventures, so it comes down to $1/scenario. I haven't heard of any plans to bundle the adventures, but that's a question for Paizo folks. I will say that Paizo often has sales on various things; there are often a couple of 10% sales a year, and I've seen 30% off some PDFs once a year or so. Sometimes PFS RPG adventures are included in those.

The AP subscriber discount applies to the scenario PDFs as well, for those of us who cross over.

I think they are a little pricey, but I also think the entire game is a little pricey. If you're already planning to spend $160 for a set, and perhaps a bunch more for card protectors, box inserts, play mats, and so on for that set, what's another $30 to get an entire second adventure out of it?

If you're looking to save money, there's the actual Guild aspect: you could see if you can run some games for a store and get the scenarios for free.

Alternatively, you could wait to get the current set until the next set is about to come out, pick up the parts for cheap, and be able to buy the entire season for that set at the same time. I got most of my S&S set for half price by waiting until a couple months ago to buy it.

I can't seem to find the sotr scenarios anywhere on here to purchase. Am I missing something or are they not available to the public yet? All I see are the s&s season.

They aren't publicly available yet. They are available for venture officers and stores running organized play. They will do on sale for general purchase next month, when adventure 2 is released to venture officers and stores.

Hm, I only have a PACG subscription and I don't get a discount on PFSACG scenarios. Not that I'm actually looking for one (for me, $1 per scenario is fine) but it's kind of interesting that AP subscribers get a PFSACG scenario discount.

The AP discount applies to pretty much everything in the store, even non-RPG items.

Pathfinder Adventure Path subscribers also receive the Pathfinder Advantage: 15% off of suggested retail price of all products on paizo.com, with the exception of non-Paizo downloadable files. (In the case of collectible products, the 15% discount will be taken off of Paizo's regular offering price.) This discount even applies to other Paizo subscriptions that aren't normally discounted! (If you already subscribe to these products, you need do nothing—appropriate discounts will be applied automatically.) With the Pathfinder Advantage, you can save on over 20,000 gaming products in the paizo.com store.

That said, the ACG discount should apply to Card Guild products imo, unsure why it doesn't.

It's probably easier to just mark off all PDFs than specific ones. Though I'd guess it just wasn't something that was noticed when it was being setup.

The AP subscription confers "Pathfinder Advantage", which gives a 15% discount on *everything* in the Paizo store, save 3rd party PDFs.

We have no intention of bundling the scenarios for a discount anytime soon. That would essentially penalize people who buy them on release, and in the long term, train everybody to wait for the discounted bundle, meaning nobody would buy them on release, and that would be harmful to the future of the line.

Also, I think the entertainment value per dollar at the current price happens to be pretty darn high. Take a friend to the movies, share a bucket of popcorn, and purchase a soda for each of you, and you'll end up paying about $30 for your 2 hours of enjoyment. That's about $2 more than you'll pay for the entire Season of the Shackles, which adds roughly 30 hours of gameplay to your existing Skull & Shackles game, for up to 6 people.

*Hands over money* The movie would have probably sucked anyway
