I'm brand new to this game so please excuse my stupidity if this is a dumb question, but who gets the cohort if you have multiple people playing a scenario and only one cohort (or any number less than the number of players). I am preparing to play the second scenario with two players and I don't know who should have the one cohort alloted for the scenario, and there's only one copy of the cohort so we both can't have it. Neither of us are playing a character that already has a cohort or I would have just used that to decide.

Well crap. I've been playing that part wrong too then. I thought with the way it was added to your hand after you drew that it did not count as part of your hand limit. I played a game today with Balazar and had his cohort plus my 6 cards.
Unless there's some weird scenario / location / special enemy rule involved, Balazar's cohort shouldn't be in your hand after the first player's turn begins. As soon as the first blessing is flipped, Padrig should be displayed, and don't look back.
While displayed, he's not in your hand, so he doesn't count against your hand size. :)

Not having my WoTR cards yet, I can't think of any. I believe that is as it should be. In the RPG, eidolons are basically immortal, so long as the Summoner is still alive. If "killed", they are just banished (in the RPG sense) for 24 hours.

I don't have the game yet, but I'm reading through the rulebook, and I'm confused about one thing regarding cohorts. It says:
If you have a cohort listed on your deck list, add it to your hand. If the scenario lists cohorts, each character may add 1 cohort from the box list to her hand.
So ... you can have two cohorts? The cohorts section on pg 21 doesn't clarify.

If you look at the example right below, it states that Balazar and Alain have cohorts already listed (Padrig and Donahan, respectively) so they are added to their hand. Then there are other cohorts available. Kyra adds Vinst to her hand and Balazar adds Cecilla the Uprooter. I'd say yes, you can have more than one cohort.

The owned cohorts (Kolo, Padrig, Leryn, and Donohan) go to their owners. Then you distribute the scenario cohorts as you wish, one per character - and owners are not excluded. :)
