What do you think about the loyalties system [Removing Alignment]

Pathfinder First Edition General Discussion

So what do you think about it will you use it?

Sovereign Court

Probably won't. It's a fun little idea but heh, my current group has been playing since 3.5 and are big fan of alignments.

I usually build my own characters around a similar idea. The Alignment system is something I dislike so much my biggest issues with the Monk, Barbarian, and other classes is the Alignment Restriction.

If I DM, Loyalties are in, Alignment is out. I'd use either Subjective Morality, or Radiant and Shadow probably.

I've been using house rules to remove alignment for a long time. Or, rather, I keep alignment, I just remove all cases where it interacts with the game mechanics. I haven't seen PF:Unchained yet, but unless their methods for removing alignment rules work substantially better than mine, I'll just stick with what I have.
A Loyalties system can be interesting--it's been done before both in professional products and homebrew. I might look into this one, but I almost certainly won't have it interact with game mechanics, just like with the default alignment system.
