Making a evil dragon good.

Advice

So i'm playing a campaign and we are given 15 months of down time. I have captured a white dragon, well he is dead but i want to resurrect him to give him a chance at redemption. Redemption is a really big part of my character. In this setting all the chromatic dragons were working together to harvest the souls of an entire race (kobolds) to gain power. Only the stronger dragons knew that they were consuming souls. this was a young dragon and was just following orders. I want to resurrect him and explain to him what he was a part of and offer him a chance at redemption, thus changing his alignment. This would probably include an atonement spell and a quest. I'm looking for ideas about this an ways to convince both the GM and the dragon to be good.

Any ideas about how to play this out or present it to the GM.

Remember that whites are the most feral and base of all dragons. A younger one might not be so reasonable but more hungry and ready to get back to the wilds.

So maybe offer it food like domesticating a wild animal through ages?

Well, the easiest way is a helm of opposing alignment. Instant change with no effort on your part (except wrestling a dragon into a helmet)

If you do not want to present the idea with a cheat, I suggest asking the GM something along the lines of "Are you willing to run a redemption side quest with this dragon?"

In the end, based on the fluff around the white dragons, it is unlikely you will get a full redemption. At best, you are looking at a dragon who will turn his back on the actions of the other chromatics. He is unlikely to stand up and fight his elders (as any red of even his same age will rip him to shreds).

Not really a problem tho when he still has to raise it. Put it on before >.> seems cheap but I'm pretty sure it would work once life is brought back to it.

I agree. If your going to bring back a dragon a Blue is very well balanced and might be a better choice than the white dragon. Need to remember a Young white dragon only has a 8 int. I foresee the White being raised and him immediately trying to run back to the coldest place he can find and lick his mental scars sort of speak. feral creatures are more about base things and basic needs and care not about redemption. A Green, Blue and Red might consider these things a little bit better than it's brethren. They also say a Green is one of the more reasonable of the chromatics when it comes to talking your way out of becoming dinner.
