I can't wait to get this book. Do you know if the Character Codex will every get a physical copy option?

The chapter/title art of each race is amazing. I loved the Dhampir. From first read through - fantastic stuff. I mean, I expect that from Kobold anyway, but this one is really really good.

High praise indeed! :)

Perhaps you might be inclined to post a review?

That's a very good question. Here is my answer.

Um... Maaaaaybe? It was meant primarily as a PDF companion to the hardcover, but we could probably spin up a POD version in the next month or two.

Awesome. You might not recognize me since I mostly work through Steve (and my name on here isn't my real name) but I designed the Aasaimar, Minotaur, Ratfolk, Sahuagin, and Tiefling NPC's and love the art that they got.

Hey, here's something pretty cool!

If you check of the Kobold Press store for this book, you can check out a bunch of final page previews:

We should probably see about getting some of them up on the Paizo product page as well ...

Paizo has the PDF and the page previews in hand. Not sure when they will post them; that's up to them!

I planned on it in the next week or so, after I've done more than just do a cursory read through of the couple of races I'm most interested in.

Looking forward to it :)

Kobold Press is awesome.

Looks like Victoria Jackzo's dhampir paladin archetype got axed at some point in development.

Beautiful book and I love the new additions to the Advanced Races series! Still reading through it but thus far, exceeding my already high expectations.

Yeah..over the course of putting this massive book together, we weren't able to keep everything we liked. It'a a sad truth of publishing that sometimes space, art, or other requirements forced quality content out of final versions. Usually we just hang onto those (especially if we've paid for them already) to use later on in a more focused product. In this case, my friend Jazz broke off several cool archetypes and the paladin went onto the self. It's not her fault (she turned over a fine bit of design). Just didn't make this cut this time.

When you've had things left out of a book because too many things started with the same letter, you start to understand Marc's job is a tough one.

Man, I wish there was more on the Shadow Fey, they're a riot, still the rest of the book is fantastic, to the point where I've bought it even though I own half the advanced races options.

Out of interest, is there any chance of us getting more shadow fey information in the future?

Glad it's still out there somewhere; I would really love to see what wrote up.

Yes, indeed! The shadow fey have a way of showing up whether they are wanted or not, and there are plans to bring them back as part of a Spring adventure and a Fall release.

God you wonderful people, I can't wait, they're currently being used as the basis of a massive revamp of Fellnight, which is shaping up to be amazing.

Can you give any hints as to what exactly it'll be? Will the adventure be about them directly, or will they be more involved on the side? And is the fall release going to be a source book, or something similar to that? Or something more general?

I do not know what is secretly planned, but I will just remind you, in case you don't have it, of Courts of the Shadowfey because that's an absolutely fantastic adventure.

Have you checked out Shadows of the Dusk Queen??? :)

From the product page:
Mirror, mirror on the wall...

Before you is a dark forest with trees rising as much as a hundred feet into the air. Foreboding and sorrow seem to emanate from within. Occasionally, shadowy creatures are glimpsed moving among the trees. Slow, plaintive howls echo among the dark branches as a cool wind begins to blow, as if whispering barely discernible words...

"She has returned. She has returned. She has returned."

"Shadows of the Dusk Queen" is a Pathfinder Roleplaying Game compatible adventure for 8th-level characters that takes players deep into a forest out of a dark fairy tale, where a long-imprisoned fey queen has returned – and evil creatures are stirring.

And of course, courts of the shadow fay! It's a great adventure centered around the race and their rulership

I have, but sadly I found it lacking in comparison to Fellnight Queen. It had a nice Fairy Tale theme but was really lacking in structure and the powerful, evocative setpieces that I really love when doing a fey-based adventure.

Courts of the Shadow Fey however was fantastic, no exceptions or provisos.
