Reach spell metamagic feat question

I have a question conccerning the reach spell feat from APG.
It allows the increase of the range of spell thats clear.
But assuming one increases the range of a spell for example Fireball
or lightning ball to unlimited and then cast it from a range
of 20 Miles on a target.
Line of sight is there.
How long woud that spell need from the source until its impact?
The same turn its cast?
Are there any rules concerning the time needed from source to target?

Best regards

Reach Spell (Metamagic)

Your spells go farther than normal.

Benefit: You can alter a spell with a range of touch, close, or medium to increase its range to a higher range category, using the following order: touch, close, medium, and long. A reach spell uses up a spell slot one level higher than the spell's actual level for each increase in range category. For example, a spell with a range of touch increased to long range uses up a spell slot three levels higher. Spells modified by this feat that require melee touch attacks instead require ranged touch attacks.

Spells that do not have a range of touch, close, or medium do not benefit from this feat.

Fireball has a range of long and so cannot be upgraded as it is at the limit. Lightning Bolt doesn't use a range of touch, close, or medium so it cannot be upgraded. From what I see you are intending to use this feat incorrectly.

Bad choice for the example spell.
It was meant as an example.
Ok assuming we take Shoking Grasp and if i understand it right one can increase the range to long for increasing the Spell to Level 4 or
higher when using the right spot.
Right?
So assuming one casts the spell from a distance of a assuming
2 Miles with line of sight to the target and hits.
How long would it take to affect the target?
Same turn as the casting?
Just asking if the increase in range has any effect on the moment a "reached " spell effects its target.
Assuming the to hit roll is succesfull.

Best regards

Khel.

You aren't going to get a spell out to two miles, even with a range of Long.Best you are going to get is about a quarter mile (at 20th level), or about a half mile if you apply Enlarge Spell.

But even if you could, the spell hits as soon as it is cast unless it specifically says otherwise. Same with every other ranged attack.

It would be the same turn as casting, as the rules provide no framework for distance increasing the time for spells to hit a target.

In the majority of circumstances, I agree with Jeraa... You probably won't get 2 mile ranges out of your spell. That said, I always get a kick out of the highest caster level thread

Incidentally, there's also no reason to expect that information transfer speed is limited by the speed of light in the Pathfinder rule set.
