Making the most of the Apocalypse Mystery...

Advice

I'm looking at creating an Oracle with the Apocalypse mystery...and would love some advice on revelation selection, as well as any feat synergies, and tactics that would be good.

Will probably take the Wrecker curse...and looking to do primarily caster Oracle (as opposed to melee).

Thanks in advance ;)

Apocalypse oracles have a mix of revelations and spells that lend themselves to control. The fact that many of them take up move actions also loan themselves to casters

Defy Elements, Destructive roots and Doomsayers all work rather well. Erosion touch requires going into melee however. Near Death boosts your saves against some very nasty effects, which is worthwhile. Pass the Torch is very much the token trap option of the Apocalypse mystery. Spellblast and Unstoppable Overun are better used for melee oracles

Power of the Fallen gives a handy mid-combat boost like Deathknell, which can be used on yourself or allies.

Dust to dust has a very short radius, making it more useful for melee oracles who are the only front-liner of the group, or where the other martials in the group use natural weapons.

Experience: Built an apocalypse oracle for my group to fight, had one of the best survivabilities of any caster I've thrown at them.

Broken trap option ? How so ?

Taking damage to deal slightly more damage is not a good idea.

I was planning on using Defy elements/fire to mitigate the damage...other than taking damage, is there a downside ?

Dedicating 2 revelations slots to deal, like, 5 extra damage a turn.

I had thought Pass the torch and Destructive roots would work well in tandem in situations where I could be a "bottle neck"......

What would be a good order of preference for energy resistance (using defy elements) ?
