So I thought I'd shamelessly plug a podcast that a friend and I made. It's essentially a review and analysis of all the classes, geared towards educating new players but with enough new twists to entertain and hopefully edify more seasoned Pathfinders.
The basic format is that we discuss the features of the class, go into archetypes, argue about viability a bit, bring out the current wisdom on the forums and then present our our own builds.
We aren't focusing on min maxing or theory crafting. If you want to unlock the meta, this podcast won't help with that. If you want some broad insights and fun ideas to impress and entertain your friends, you could do a lot worse.
We have the first three episodes up and the forth is coming soon. We hope to hear you.

The new episode up: The Bard
Wherein we gush a good deal about one of the most mechanically interesting classes in the game using the power of rock and roll. The Bard is a class that rewards strategy and (gasp) role playing over optimization, so of course we love it. Also, I beat an (un)dead horse for the last time with the coolest take on animate dead yet.

The new episode is up: Alignments?
In this very special episode of Twentieth Level Commoners, we discuss something that destroys more parties than liches, succubi, or pit fiends combined; Paladins chilling out with rogues!
We have words on the nine alignments, who belongs where, and, most importantly, how to have fun and how not to be a dick about it. It's gonna be a lot of fun

Next episode up: The Witch
Wherein we kick of the base classes... or is it core? That's kind of poorly named, isn't it?. It's the one one that's not the first one.
Anyway, we kick that off with the witch, a class that is absurdly, kind of problematically good at shutting foes down. How problematic? Keep a bucket of water handy and find out!

Next episode up: The Tactics
Wherein we do a Very Special Episode on what you're actually supposed to be doing with those sweet, sweet character builds we've been showing you. We start with the basics; flanking, combat maneuvers, proper teamwork. Then we talk dungeon master theory for a bit, and go over our favorite campaign moments and why they worked(or just failed in a really fun way). Finally, we dissect a gaming session from both sides of the table. It's based on The Hoxton Breakout from Payday 2 and it's nuts.
Take a listen for yourself.

Next episode up: The Cavalier/Samurai
Wherein we get as negative as we ever have and straight up put down the cavalier, then spend the rest of the show downright gushing over his better half, the samurai. We also talk about Takeda Shingen, Afro Samurai and Samurai Champloo, so that's fun.

Next episode up: The Inquisitor
Wherein we have a good discussion about tactics and teamwork feats, Vincel makes a very interesting build with a rich backstory and then I talk about Dracula for awhile.
Good for more than just Monty Python references, the Inquisitor is an advanced but very rewarding class. You won't expect it.

Next episode up: The Gunslinger
Wherein we take a shot at the most consistent damage dealer in the game, and then marvel about how shooting people in the face consistently gets dull so fast with not much else to do. On the positive side, we find an archetype who specializes in shooting dudes in the gut and burning them with the muzzle flash - and that never gets old.
Take a listen, it's better than a rifle butt to the sinuses for 1 d6 damage!

Next episode up: the Alchemist
Wherein we ask you a simple question; do you like burning things? Explosions? While being arguably the best support in the game? Why wouldn't you?
The alchemist is seriously awesome, possibly the strongest base class without any op cheese finagling required; or you could just play the archetype that sacrifices everything fun in order to get disease resistance and hold your breath for con mod number of hours.
This episode's cooler than a 10 d6 freezing bomb.

Listened to the Hybrid Classes episode. Pretty intense review of the 10 classes. I think the arcanist is better than you make it out to be. The arcanist archetype, School Savant, allows it to substitute for a wizard and the casting mechanic is better than either a wizard or sorcerer. I prefer blockbusters over god wizards so in my opinion the arcanist works better for it.
I have been trying to love the warpriest as an alternative to the paladin and like you found it kind of boring in comparison.

School Savant sounds pretty cool, we'll have to look into it. Also, I cannot not imagine a less necessary class than the Warpriest.
Thanks for being willing to take another look at the Arcanist. I think the Warpriest is a case of missed opportunity. It would have made a great substitute for the Cleric in the PFCRB. Closer in concept to the AD&D Cleric.

Next episode up: Movie Night
Wherein we talk about the three films I feel pretty much sum up D&D; Lord of the Rings, Conan the Barbarian and Monty Python and the Quest for the Holy Grail. We also go off topic into anime, westerns, the nature of evil in Conan and LotR and the nature of storytelling. It's fantastic. Next up, we'll be doing a whole system, so stay tuned!

I admit this is a pet peeve, but I kept twitching every time one of you mispronounced these words.
Eidolon is pronounced "īˈdōlən".
Ki is pronounced "chē".
Chakra is pronounced "chuhk-ruh".

You should really think about putting these up on youtube, although I'm mostly saying it because it's hard for me to listen to podcast on my system, but youtube works well for me.
Ask and receive. We are on the Youtubes

Yeah, the sad thing is that I sort of knew all that(especially eidolon as a lifelong Final Fantasy fan) but my mouth just sort of defaults into dumb tourist mode.
Apologies.

Aces, did you plan on putting up any of your other discussions there?

I've just started listening to your podcasts and it's intesting stuff (my opinions and impressions vary rather noticeably on some points). But I was wondering why, when you do your own builds, you only get 5K gold? CRB lists the wealth-by-level for 5th as 10.5K.
Good question, I'm surprised somebody only asked that now. I'm also kind of surprised we never just explained it. We always tended to play campaigns were we roughed it a bit and found 10.5k to be easy mode. Also, and I am speaking entirely for myself here, not sure what Vincel's thoughts on this are, it's my own little rebellion against the idea that you need a particular item loadout to be viable in combat. It's a bit far on the gamey side of things for my comfort (if I want to play a moba I'll play a moba) and I honestly don't think that it's true.
Not judging anybody who plays that way, but magic item catalogs detract more than they add for me.
