As far as I can tell, it doesn't work at all.
Also, base Investigators aren't proficient with guns either.
Studied Strike (Ex): At 4th level, an investigator can choose to make a studied strike against the target of his studied combat as a free action, upon successfully hitting his studied target with a melee attack, to deal additional damage. The damage is 1d6 at 4th level, and increases by 1d6 for every 2 levels thereafter (to a maximum of 9d6 at 20th level). The damage of studied strike is precision damage and is not multiplied on a critical hit; creatures that are immune to sneak attacks are also immune to studied strike.
If the investigator's attack used a weapon that deals nonlethal damage (like a sap, whip, or an unarmed strike), he may choose to have the additional damage from studied strike be nonlethal damage instead of lethal damage. If the investigator chose to make an attack with a lethal weapon instead deal nonlethal damage (with the usual –4 penalty), the studied strike damage may also deal nonlethal damage.
The investigator must be able to see the target well enough to pick out a vital spot and must be able to reach such a spot. An investigator cannot use studied strike against a creature with concealment.
You could play a Steel Hound Investigator, but it does nothing to let you use Studied Strike with a ranged weapon as far as I can tell.

Ranged study feat, half elf exotic weapon proficiency. I am just trying to figure out if the studied strike damage works with both barrels because it is one attack to fire both.
Ranged Study
You can use a limited form of studied combat and studied strike with a weapon of your choice.
Prerequisite(s): Weapon Focus with the chosen weapon, studied combat class feature.
Benefit: Choose one kind of ranged weapon. You gain the bonuses for studied combat with your chosen weapon and can use studied strike with your chosen weapon as long as the target of your studied strike is within 30 feet of you.
Normal: You gain the bonuses for studied combat and can use studied strike only with melee weapons.

Studied strike damage dice only occurs once. It's an extra affect tacked on once . The wording specifies it procs on an attack. Even if there is two bullts there is only one attack.
So Only the normal amount, no doubling of it.
You could make an argument for your studied combat bonus to damage to be applied for each bullet though.

The strike damage solidly will not work
Strike only adds to an attack-a single attack. So it only adds to whichever one you chose to activate the strike (via free action) for.
You activate it after hitting, but before rolling damage. So you would chose one damage to roll it with. Which would help that one attack do more damage for dr and the like.
I perosnally would tag it on the second rather than the first. Because of how the game is played; despite the fact both bullets theoritically could hit at the same time. Because of how things are rolled they are forced into an "order of operations." so if you used the Strike damage on the first one, a GM could restrict the studied combat damage bonus on the second damage roll if they wanted to. citing that the bullet not impacting at once.
Generally not gonna come up but it's worth noting. As that is part of the intricticly designed risk of studied combat. Do you wait and hope your last attack hits or do you use strike now and forgo the to hit and damage on the later attacks.

Ah, now I see. But I concur with zswordsman. One "attack", but two separate attack rolls and damage rolls. Only one bullet can benefit from the studied strike damage.
I will also add I tried to find that feat, because I thought it had been mentioned before. But I was thinking it was a talent and not a feat, and therefore couldn't find it.
You're honestly probably better off just using a bow instead of a gun. Cheaper ammunition, can add strength to damage (if you have any), no issues with reloading time. And, whatever the answer would be for double barreled guns, would apply to the two arrows fired from Many Shot as well.
The only thing firearms have going for them is the touch attack in the first range increment. Except that's 20ft for a double barreled pistol. Which also happens to be well within most melee characters face ripping zone.

Str to damage would not help me. I rolled 15 14 12 12 11 10. Kinda bad. With my build I do not use any stat for damage. I am relying on studied combat and deadly aim for damage. I have pumped all my stat increases into Int and used a belt to get the dex to 18. With empiricist archetype and a few choice traits, my skills through the roof. Infusion and combine extract and I make an ok Buffer. I have a paladin, a ranger, and a ninja to stand in front of me (the ninja and the paladin's mount are in am AC race, both have ACs in the high 30s).
Sickening Offensive also allows no save debuffing.
