Okay, this is a weird question (and maybe valid for another thread), but how would a rogue fair in an NPC-based environment? Say, with a warrior, adept, and aristocrat?

I'd imagine it'd be comparatively and demonstrably stronger, and quite significantly so... but I'm not entirely sure, given the warrior's full BAB and the adept's access to spells, not to mention the general prevalence of higher will saves which kind of seem usually more important to negate character-ending abilities than a high reflex.

EDIT: you know what? I made this a new thread.

By comparison to the NPC class it might do well, but that does nothing to help it against the monsters. Actually it could be worse off since it would put more weight on the rogue since he may have to carry the team.

One word of warning, the complete absence of bonus feats makes a complicated fighting style hard to support early on. Unless you know it will be a long-term campaign I'd go with a two-hander or maybe Fencing Grace. :)
Yeah, the actual intended-for-PFS investigator I've got written up somewhere in my hard drive is a half-orc, likely for the same reason wraith made his samples half-orcs: falchion proficiency is hard to ignore, especially when it comes with darkvision to boot...

I really wanted to go human and get the extra skill point and feat, but I made the rogue first, and it might be looked at as me cheating to use the human for the investigator. In addition the dark vision removed the problem of using precision damage in the dark, and the falchion was not a bad consolation prize.

The only issue with falchion is that it can't be Inspired, and that's a mighty sweet enchant for investigators.

Inspired+long spear=dead monstas

Though it is a +1 enchantment....

true, but for a 11th levels character, that's a drop in the bucket.

Half-Orcs can swap Darkvision for an extra +1 Skill Point per level.

And then swap orc ferocity in for 90 feet darkvision. But i guess that goes to get Sacred tatto.

That is true, but many GM's might say that you can't use it without keeping darkvision. However I don't think that disclaimer is listed per RAW.
