Searching for Spells!

I have been searching for Wizard spells for some time now, and have not been able to find any. It has come to my attention that the possible reason is the types of foes I have been fighting. There has been a large assortment of bandits, goblins, and some ogres.

So, I took myself around to several monster hexes, and attempted to do battle with baddies with a more arcane bent. The closest I have found so far are the Moloch cultists, however these are far out of my scale for clubbing.

The question is, Where is there an encroachment of wizards?

Try the marchmount AH, normally lots of spells on there.

and types of monster do not effect what type of loot drops. If you fighter higher level monsters you are going to have a chance at higher level loot. (Spells/Maneuvers/Recipes)

I usually get a number of spells after killing lots of goblins, wolves and bandits. You may not have your knowledges up high enough or, from what I've read elsewhere, you don't get much loot if you kill anything from more than 25' away. And every wizard prefers to kill as far away as possible so that becomes a problem as well for getting loot.

Has the "Higher knowledge skills reduce your chances of finding higher level loot" theory been disproved? I recall some evidence being collected to support that theory (although perhaps not enough evidence to draw a statistically significant conclusion).

Has any evidence been collected to support the theory that loot chances decline if the character is more than 25' from the monster at the time of death? It seems like this theory would affect both wizards and archers.

Actually the only maneuver I received was from when i was using a different character and in much closer range, so that makes sense I guess.

Thank you for the Input! I shall try all of those things!

Wow, is that true?

I think it is a misunderstanding. If you are in a party, and are out-of-range (not on your party member's minimap) when the mob is killed, you do not seem to get a cut of the loot. I have killed a lot of goblins from more than 25 feet away, and noticed no apparent shortage of loot.

Thanks, Cal, that sounds reasonable.

Abathan, where do you prowl? I have currently two spell to sell. I will be at the Emerald market today.

Got a 3rd level Cleric Midnight off a generic gobbo yesterday with a longbow shot so it does happen.

Be good if we could get spells in more ways than just drops though.

@Schedim I'm usually running around and between Emerald Lodge and Hammerfall. I'm unfortunately not going to be on this evening, I have a function I have to prepare for :)

I've seen a few cleric spells and a maneuver do I know they exist! I'm still holding out hope, and have expanded my search and tactics to encompass a much larger range on the map. Thank you all for the suggestions, and I will eventually make it to marchmount to check out the AH there.

I recommend Ogres, a bit tricky until you find your tactics but I have got two lvl 3 spells and 2 lvl spells from them. High Geography skill is an adavantage.

I am still wondering, what does Spellcraft do?

Thanks, Lhan.

I am confused about one thing: can you only add the Enchant recipe when you are making a +4 or +5 item?

I.e. in the crafting UI, you will not be able to activate that 5th slot for the Crystals untill you have put all +4 (or +5) refined goods in the other slots?

Or can we add Enchantments to +1 and +2 items too? This seems to be implied by the part where Stepehen explains that a certain Bonus enchant adds +3 to the items final + (which could mean a total of +5 on a +2 item).

Also, since we will only be able to add a single Enchant, does this mean the only benefit of a +5 item over a +4 item is the added + with the passive bonus Enchants? I initially figured that a +5 items could have 2 enchants, or could have the type of enchants that add two keywords.

Lastly, how does this work with Misc. Gear? Again, will the only difference between a +1 Warm Glove and +3 Warm Glove, be an extra 2 of a passive Bonus Enchant? And no extra benefit for a Keyword Enchant? That would mean that if you intend to add a Keyword enchant, you only will need +1 Misc gear items for that.

Or does the higher + item open up to more enchants(higher level)?

Nothing is finalized at that level of detail yet, Tyncale. We'll get more complete info when the system is ready to start testing.

Ok, thanks Guurzak. Back to playing. More fun, less headache. :)
