Ok, it has been a long time since I played Pathfinder. When identifying magic items, do you set the CR to the level needed to create the item? Help?
The CL of the magic item would be the minimum CL needed to create the item, yes.
Ok, so basically, the minimum CL to create the item is what I use as the CL when a character tries to identify the item using identify or detect magic. If they roll under that (plus all modifiers) then they fail to identify the item. Do I have the right? Gee it has been a long time. Thanks,
Be sure to add 15 to the DC to identify magic items. The Spellcraft DC is 15 + item's caster level (minimum CL to create said item). Thanks!
