Can I put feather step slippers on an eidolon?

Rules Questions

I have a mounted summoner and I am looking at ways to avoid difficult terrain for my eidolon.

I came across Feather Step Slippers from Ultimate Equipment, but a friend of mind asked if my eidolon had the appropriate "feet" to wear them.

I know summoners and their eidolon's share slots, but are their any other rules I need to be aware of that would prevent me from buying my eidolon mount a pair of slippers?

Unless you've bought evolutions that require certain feet to operate, it has whatever sort of feet you want it to have.

If it's large, it probably has large feet.
If it's serpentine form, I'm afraid you're out of luck.
Is it quadrapedal or bipedal ? (How many legs does it have ?) You might need two pair !
Does it have things on those legs that need to be exposed in order to make attacks ? (Hooves/Claws) If so, you many need to pay extra money for a different form (such as horseshoes instead of slippers )if you want to keep using them.

If you dont wear magic footwere your self.

It is a Quadruped(the mount evolution is restricted to quads and serps)

I have claws on one set of legs, but not the other(claws can only be placed on legs once).

My primary concern was that because they were paws, he would not have the "feet" required to wear slippers.

Is this for PFS? If so, PFS has proven to be very much a stickler for what pets can and cannot wear and I doubt it would be allowed on anything non-bipedal.

Magic Slippers, magically resize, and reshape.

Magically.

Yes, my intent is to use this in PFS.

Yeah, in that case it's unlikely to fly. There is technically no rule outright stating what Eidolons can or cannot wear in PFS, but there is for animal companions oddly. Many PFS GM's are going to follow the Animal Archive chart for determining what your Eidolon can, or cannot wear, based on whatever animal type best fits your Eidolon's physical appearance.

Grand Lodge

Normally, as long as the eidolon has the evolution limbs (legs) with out an attached natural attack (claws or hooves) it can wear the slippers. This is assuming you are not wearing magical boots as you and the Eidolon share magic item slots.

As the alchemist mentioned, PFS gets a little crazy. Check with your local GM, and be prepared for a possible no. You could argue it, showing them the line "Eidolons and their summoners share magic item slots, ie 2 rings between the 2 of them, 1 amulet, 1 headband, 1 belt etc", but probally not worth the effort.

Shadow Lodge

You'd probably need the eidolon to have the Extra Item Slot feat.

As a rule of thumb, if you want to do something questionable, putting character investment into it is more likely to sway table variation in your favour.

...especially since Summoners are pretty much the most hated class in Society right now. It'll be a rare GM that gives you the benefit of the doubt.

+1 on what Avatar said.

My advice? Get a wand of feather step, instead.

You can get it much earlier, as it is a first level spell, so you can spend 2 PP to get 50 charges, Unfortunately, it would require UMD for a Summoner to use it...
