Hi everyone, first post. I was wondering, if someone is nauseated (ala Stinking Cloud), can they break out of a grapple (ala Black Tentacles)? I'm not sure if nauseated allows for breaking out of a grapple...
Nauseated only allows a move action. Breaking a grapple is a standard action. So you cannot attempt to break the grapple if you are nauseated.
The Noxious Bite is also especially nasty for a grappler who bites with his mouth, as another example.
As far as i can tell, your effectivly screwed, rules wise :(
edit: I think just about everyone bites with their mouth... I meant "grapples" with their mouth =^^=

Are you fighting an Hezrou? yeah its bad.
Had to look him up. Yeah, nasty, but he's why you have an entire party.
Though the good news is that despite being nauseated and grappled, your not technically helpless, which means he can't bypass the pinning stage and just tie you up.
Still, one of the many reasons to invest in a decent fortitude save or increasing your CMD against grapples.
