Filling the 1a niche - PFS

Advice

So I am thoroughly enjoying my foray in to PFS after a long hiatus from 3.0 LG. I was fortunate enough to land with a great regular gaming group and we are tearing through adventures. We have all, in a way, settled into pseudo-niches. I have an elf magus (who after some advice on the boards I am enjoying much more), a human bear shaman druid, and a Nagaji Battle Oracle. As you can see my niche is front line - no problem I can handle that, or medium support, no problem I can handle that. I was hoping to make an alternate character in the similar vein, PFS legal, and interesting to play. and I have been all over looking for build ideas, and tossed a bunch around without any success. Skald, Cavalier, Witch, - nothing screamed "Roll Me Up'.

As always thanks for looking, and any help would be appreciated.

If you like the Magus so much, why not try building another but go in a different direction?

My very first magus build was a Strength magus, grabbed the Wand Arcana, a Wand of True Strike, and became a mean tripping machine.
Spells: Support, defense, and range damage.
Reason: Wanted to try something else from what these forums all suggested. Was a very fun and flexible character. Did not have the damage out put of a regular magus.

Then about a year later I'm now working on building a standard Kensai Magus. Which sounds like about what you have now.

If you want to just try another class -
Warpriest from the ACG. The Divine Caster type of the Magus.

Scarab Sages

I suggest the Inquisitor or Warpriest. They're divine, but both do a good job of mixing up magic and martial like the Magus.

Find a figurine you like and build a character around that.

So core races only? :D Seriously though, we don't even have kitsune or tengu figurines yet, do we?

Its how I build half of my characters. There are a host of different races if you look to all of the different manufacterers. Of course, you might have to paint it yourself.

Grab a mini from a non-Pathfinder source. Bones by Reaper Miniatures are awesome. Lots of other companies make miniatures, and they all employ different concept artists. Speaking of concept art, do a search for concept art of your favorite fantasy games, movies, and books, and you'll get a host of ideas.

Grab miniatures from other genres; warhammer 40K has some beautiful works that, with some...ah...adjustments, can pass as fantasy.

Or ideas: I like playing the alchemist I got right now. I took the vivisectionist archetype, and its a blast to play.

I also favor the frontline (and am constantly cussing out all spellcasters) characters. Most recently, I have been looking up fighters, paladins, and other full BaB guides to find the next cool thing.

The mutagen fighter looks cool to me. Its easy to say he brews a very special alcohol for himself, and he drinks it before battle. Its a bit harsher to say he's addicted to an odd form of 'battle herb' that he learned to brew himself to keep the costs down.

I've also been looking into monks, and trying out them to seem what happens. So far, nothing is screaming "play me" but I have hope.
