I second the Magus suggestion, going Kensai (and maybe Bladebound). You could dip Swashbuckler and get Slashing Grace, and be entirely dex based with the Katana.
That seems more in line with what you want.

Doesn't Heirloom Weapon only give you proficiency in that particular katana rather than all katanas?

Yes, but with Masterwork Transformation and Make Whole, it's not that bad. The only problem is you'll never be able to use special materials with it.

It depends on what sort of player is doing the Kitsune with FCB. For my Maestro Sorcerer, I used the FCB so I didn't have to pick up Skill Focus Enchantment and instead do Realistic Likeness, Skill Focus Knowledge Local, and Eldritch Heritage Arcane for a Familiar. I didn't go for optimal, just fun.

Hmm

That may be your approach, and I laud it, however it as a bonus if far ahead of any other race, with any other school of magic in the game. Nothing comes close. Consider that.

Elf and Aasimar oracle FCBs blow the kitsune sorcerer one away. Actually, the human one does too. More spells known is better than a bonus to DCs in a school that many things are flat out immune to.

Wayangs with Umbral / Shadow Bloodline are pretty darn strong...

And yes, I agree that the Human Sorcerer FCB is better than the Kitsune one. I am playing a human sylvan sorcerer in PFS, and I am really enjoying having all the extra spells, PLUS an intelligent, well-trained tiger to do melee becaue of the human eye-for-talent trait.

In comparison, my kitsune Maestro (not-PFS) is charming but actually somewhat less powerful overall, and she was built on a much higher point buy.

Hmm

The extra spell FCB is huge I accept but I've played human sorcerers too. To have save DC's reach 30+ is immense. Also there are metamagic feats/rods that allow enchantment spells to effect undead and mindless creatures as I am sure you already know. The Kitsune bonus doesn't sit well with me that is why I played it to see how it impacted in a 'real' game. Even in an undead heavy adventure the Kitsune was a key character with Hideous Laughter stopping the BBG in his tracks. I'd rather see something around an extra tails/powers/spells fcb.
