Why is the Greatclub (almost) exactly as good as the Greatclub +1?

Both the Greatclub and the Greatclub+1 give you Strength/Melee + 1d10+1. Shouldn't either the Greatclub just be Strength/Melee + 1d10, or the Greatclub+1 be Strength/Melee + 1d10+2?

Sovereign Court

The regular greatclub shouldn't have a +1.

There have been one or two weapons that got higher bonuses than their plus, but the greatclub has only been getting its plus so far

Which product did you find that in? Rise of the Runelords, Skull and Shackles, or a class deck?

Sovereign Court

The Fighter Class Deck has the base Greatclub, and Ranger/Cleric has the +1

No errata on this one. It's a perfectly healthy card as is, even though it confounds some expectations. And gaining the Magic trait is worth something, even if nothing else changes from card to card.

That's... really weird, but I'm ok with having pluses on a non magical weapon. It's nice for monsters that require magic where you don't to take damage, but you don't want to spend cards if it isn't going to be defeated.

It's good for bashing zombies day in and day out. I shall call her Lucille.

Absolutely!!! And if you want an explanation : Fighters ALWAYS use a larger Greatclub than mere Rangers/Clerics so that's why they do not need magic to get more damage.

That's a known thing about fighters, they always argue on whoever has the largest Club!!! I never understood why... I a poor gnome cleric in real life :-)
