When will the Kickstarter people finally get a chance to play?

I am really confused. I was one of the first 2000 to sign up for the Kickstarter. I was promised, "a digital downloadable copy of the Pathfinder Online MMO and an invite to become an Early Enrollee in the Beta". How can we be in Alpha when I haven't had a chance to play in Beta? I know I probably could have done a better job of keeping up with this Kickstarter, but I feel I have done everything asked of me. I've signed up for the website. I've filled out the pledge manager. I've kept everyone up to date with my address and everything but I feel I've just been kicked to the curb. Thread after thread after thread of people playing in Alpha and all I can do is read and wait.

When do I get to play?

You need to get an alpha invite from someone...shouldn't be hard since there's a lot floating around. On another note, Alpha is a testing phase that comes before beta, so you haven't missed your chance to play in beta.

Here's the latest Alpha Invites thread. As Fierywind said, there are lots around.

You'll need to give your donor an email address, and use that at Goblinworks.com when you get your invite.

@TClifford:

On Monday (barring delays) you will be able to play in the Alpha. Have fun!

The Alpha is scheduled to end on the 25th and Early Enrollment is scheduled to begin on the 25th. If you have Early Enrollment access (and it sounds like you do), you'll be able to play on the first day of Early Enrollment (if you want to).

You can verify your Enrollment status by logging in to gobliworks.com and clicking the account link (it's right below the Pathfinder Online logo and it's in the form "username account". You'll see your enrollment status on the information page.

There is no "beta". We should not have used that term in the Reward description but by the time we decided it was a mistake to have used that term it was too late to change the Reward text. Early Enrollment is not a "beta test" in the classic sense. It is instead "early access". The game will be a "minimum viable product" - a complete, playable game that has all the basic features required to play. It will however be the first iteration of those features and some non-essential features are still being developed. You, and the other Early Enrollees will have a chance to help us create Pathfinder Online through our Crowdforging intiatives.

If you don't want to play the game at this time you do not have to begin using the game time you received from the Kickstarter and can wait as long as you wish before you do use that time. The game will continuously iterate and become more complex as time progresses.

People may interpret that wrong.

The bolded part may lead people to believe that most "essential features" have been implemented (if only the first iteration), however I think most people consider the essential features to be stuff like Settlements, Feuds, Wars, Sieges, Caravans, SADs, factions and such, and not stuff like Character-creation, Combat, basic crafting and resource harvesting.

Even I had to read it twice before I got your meaning of "essential features" in your post.

Could lead to some confusion if this gets quoted anywhere.

I'm not 100% sure, but I think your line above represents a misunderstanding of Alpha vs Beta. Alpha is more rudimentary and incomplete, so always happens before Beta (how most of us are thinking of EE because it's easier than saying EE and has some qualities in common).

Crudely:
Concept -> Design -> Alpha -> Beta (EE) -> Release.

We are on the cusp of moving from Alpha to Beta (EE). Very soon, everyone with access of any kind (including "EE" and "the month before Open Enrollment") will have temporary access to Alpha, then there will be a wipe and Beta (EE) will begin, scheduled for less than a week from today barring obvious needs to delay it.

There is no Beta, only Zuul. (I mean, only Early Enrollment.)
