Tiefling alternate trait Vestigal wings + Optional Tiefling Ability Levitate

Hello there!

I'm working on my tiefling paladin build for WOTR.
I'm planning to take the Tiefling alternate trait "Vestigal wings" + Optional Tiefling Ability "Levitate".

My questions are:

Can I fly with the combo of those traits and abilities?

if yes, Can I fly with my armor on me, or is it too heavy?

Tiefling Vestigal Wings can be found on this page..

RAW, you do not get true flight with this combination. You do get levitate (per the spell) plus the ability to move horizontally while levitating at some rate determined by your GM by using your wings. You'd use all the levitate rules, but not the flight rules. If I were your GM, I'd let the bonus to fly apply to stabilizing yourself while levitating.

I'd suggest not trying this in PFS.

so far no tiefling flight unless your class lets you do so. very unfair since aasimars do have a feat chain that alouds em to fly with real functional wings

This. I'm annoyed that Tieflings don't have a similar "grow wings" ability.

However, more to the point...

Vestigial wings don't let you move horizontal in any way. they're just stabilizers. Your DM may be generous and allow it, but per RAW it doesn't work.

Our Wrath of the Righteous GM is allowing a mirrored version of the aasimar feats for tieflings. Gonna be awesome since we have members of both races planning on taking them. :)
