To The Great Western Kingdoms! [Or the Great Western Kingdom if we merge into one nation when nations are finally allowed]
Please make sure to stop by this Wednesday to Kabal's site for our Meet and Greet on Mumble. http://kabal.enjin.com/
It starts 8:30 PM Eastern.
The plan includes convincing a few non-PFO folks to come join PFO. And if you know a few yourselves, have them come by too. And of course, after we have convinced them how wonderful PFO is and how much more awesome it will be later and that they should join PFO, we will then convince them to join Kabal.
If folks from the nearby settlements come by, we might talk about who will provide what kinds of training so we don't overlap each other too much. Possible trade agreements might be discussed. Non-aggression pacts? Alliances? [which will probably be done privately while the leaders work out the details, but a simple - "Let's Talk" could be mentioned at the Meet and Greet.
Possible Tower Allocation might be discussed. [To my mind, anything east of Ozem's Vigil and south of Callambea that nobody is sitting on is open to us all. And depending on who is sitting on it, we might discuss taking it away from them.]
And pay homage to the Great Sun King! Sunnfire the First!

Well, the Gauntlet anyways. Don't think anyone heard from the Guardians.
They may find themselves a part of the Great Kingdoms, whether they like it or not.
Talks will go on for at least two hours, so when you can get on, that's fine. The Sun King apparently doesn't sleep so you can probably talk to him for hours and hours and hours. :-)

Great Kingdoms of the West indeed. Of the Northwest, perhaps. In the Southwest we have Great Kingdoms of our own, like... *looks at all the tiny settlements surrounding Sunholm* uh. nevermind.
:D
Thought about NW but once the bigger map comes into play, it will be the West. You SW folks can join the Great Kingdoms too. After all, you got food to trade. We got rocks. :-)

Close. there's an "E" missing at the beginning of that: (linkified)
Thanks. Was rushing it. Still waiting to see how Sunnfire is going to take the news that he is now the Great Sun King of Kabal! :-)

Any other settlement groups outside of those named in the header are welcome. Especially the others nearby of some kind of good alignment, on the other side of the tracks! er ... road!
Forgeholm and Blackfeather Keep are also invited. I'm just not sure with travel times if you would find it of some advantage to be a part of the Great Western Kingdoms. But then again, the main roads are close to you both. Though I'm pretty sure all of us are going to need the metals you gather. Somehow, I don't think Golgotha will be trading with us. :-)
Sunholm and Hammerfist Clan would also be very welcome to stop by and chat.

Why not? There's no particular reason for us to be enemies or have a trade embargo that I'm aware of.
Golgotha's gameplan is a little more nuanced than just lurking about on our clifftop looking ominous. We're absolutely up for trade to mutual benefit.
Surely you don't imagine that the Cheliax economy runs in isolation without importing or exporting any sort of goods, nor that the various orders of Hellknights all grow all of their own food. It's no different with us.

BTW, an alliance may be a better starting point for conversation than a kingdom.
Some of us have zero interest in bowing to any king.
My 2 CP.
While the name for the mechanic of the game that has, as of now, potential of being a topic of discussion is Kingdom, that doesn't mean that's the government we have to put in place. The beauty of this game is it's freedom and the power that is placed directly in the hands of the players. You don't want a king, fine. Come discuss with us what you do want, and, as players and comrades, let's build the game we desire.

Cool. I don't know if I have the hardware to do the Mumble thing, but I am certainly interested in building relationships among good settlements.
I'm not a company commander or anything, but I am definitely interested in learning more and getting to know other folks. So I will see what i can do to participate.

While kingdom gets used a lot because it's an easy option in a fantasy setting, the appropriate word is Nation, and I suspect there won't be as many kingdoms as people assume.

Nation is fine terminology with me.
Some of us CG types just aren't interested in monarchies. ;)

Wasn't that also 'tyranny of the majority', when applying majority rule to issues like the rights of a minority?

I read above that the meeting is open to anyone. Is it still planned for later this day? Is it indeed still open to all?
Anybody can drop by and say "hi". 8:30 PM Eastern. It's planned to go 2 hours but if folks want to talk longer, that's fine.
Later meetings will be more private as we discuss trade, non-aggression, alliances and such. Wouldn't want the wrong people at those meetings. :-)

Looks like most of our negotiations will be done in delay mode
Maybe we can set something up on a Saturday for the more international folks to talk.

I use Kingdom and Kings because the land we are in is called The River Kingdoms, not the River Nations. :-)
But nation building mechanics are a long way off. How we form one if probably a discussion for another day, once we know how the mechanics will work.

If you find that the empire or Callambea itself is apart of the right people group please let us know.
As Guurzak said, we are not lawful stupid. Our settlements would love the opportunity to talk about trade with this potential power block.
Additionally if it works better for that conversation to happen outside of the meeting tonight that is also fine. The last thing we want to do is intrude.

Everyone is welcome. We will not rule anyone out based on their alignment, or even their reputation from... whatever. Every settlement or nation will have an opportunity to make their own bed.
That said I think this will be more of a meet, chat and maybe toss out some possibilities for more detailed discussions to happen soon after.

If we hosted another one this Saturday at 10 AM eastern [which is GMT-4], could you international folks make that one? That would be, what? 2 PM Germany and 6 PM TAI time?
Also give folks in the US who work at night a chance to talk with a real live Kabal person! :-)
TAI time! I LOLed. The bulk of us are in east coast Australia AEST(or AEDT in summer) which is GMT+10. But I might take it to parliament to change it to TAI time because I like it better now.
