Life Link and Fey Foundling

Rules Questions

If a character with the Fey Foundling feat heals the 5hp due to a Life Link, does he benefit from the feat's effect?

No, because Life Link is a flat bonus and Fey Foundling only adds 2 HP per die rolled. No dice rolled, no extra HP.

Perfect, thank you for the quick answer Azten.

That and Life Link is not healing, it is damage prevention.

Life Link wrote:
Whenever the eidolon takes enough damage to send it back to its home plane, the summoner can sacrifice any number of hit points. Each hit point sacrificed in this way prevents 1 point of damage done to the eidolon.

They may have meant the Life Link revelation of the Life oracle. I see the revelation working almost like a limited form of fast healing. Still wouldn't work though, since you heal a static 5 each round rather than a variable die.

Scarab Sages

Now if you have the Fast Healer feat, that might work.

I believe Fast Healer would function with Life Link, since Life Link is (Su), so it is magical, and it specifically calls out that the linked character heals 5 HP, not just that they gain or recover 5 HP.

Grand Lodge

Now I have seen it used the other way. Fey foundling gives everyone else life link to heal their damages, then spans healing spells on themselves to get the extra +2 healing per die.

Sovereign Court

@OP: Fey Foundling will not affect non-dice based healing. So cantrips and fast healing would not benefit, at least by strict RAW.

Here's how I've seen a similar mechanic power gamed in Society (internet play). Drop a level in Life Oracle. Get Life Link. Get 4 levels in Paladin. Go Tiefling. Get Greater Mercy feat, and Fey Foundling feat. FCB in the Tiefling Paladin option. Get Bracers of the Merciful Knight.

Now your lay on hands is 2d6 (4 natural class levels) + 4 Tiefling FCB + 2d6 (bracers) + 1d6 greater mercy feat + 10 fey foundling = 5d6 + 14. Your target heals 5 from you until you (free action) to cancel the Life Link. Then smack yourself (swift action) with lay on hands for an average of 26+ hit points, as needed.

Bonus: It doesn't specify that it only works in combat. I suspect it gets FAQ'd eventually.

Extra cheese: Ring of Regeneration on the life linker (the Paladin/Oracle)

PROTIP: Watch out for flying dice from the GM's side of the table...
