Busy day, and it's not over yet.
Up at 0530. Brought kidlets to daycare after 0600. Had some coffee and did some computer work. Brought the trailblazer to the shop. Answered some work emails while waiting for the vehicle work. Got home, cleaned out the car, then vacuumed and mopped downstairs. Went out for lunch and to hit the cleaners. Home again to vacuum the stairs. Then off to some stores, including a bit of grocery shopping. Then home again to straighten up and vacuum the upstairs. Then a bit more cleaning. Then picked up the kids from daycare, cooked dinner, ate dinner. Finally, a bit of relaxing before going to give the boy his bath and get him to bed.
Somewhere in all that, I also cleaned the downstairs half bath and did two loads of laundry.
And I've still got a ton of stuff to do before I go to sleep later tonight.

Great day today! My niece had her dance recital, so my brother dropped their youngest off here for us to watch. Charlie had his first swim lesson.
After the dance recital, my brother, his wife, and their two oldest came back to our place. I grilled up burgers and hot dogs for lunch. Then we took all the kids to the neighborhood splash pad. When we came back, the youngsters had popsicles before my brother and his left. Now we're just relaxing.

Yesterday morning, I had the unforeseen opportunity to introduce the boy to one of my favorite comic book characters - Ghost Rider! As we were all getting up, he wanted the TV on, and to watch Avengers. Avengers wasn't on yet, but Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H. was on. So I changed to that channel and, lo and behold, it was guest starring my favorite flame-headed biker!

My absolute favorite is Young's Double Chocolate Stout. I was introduced to it at Hershey back during the wife and I's first anniversary visit to that place. We stayed at the Hershey Hotel. It was awesome.
I'm also a big fan of Sam Smith's Oatmeal Stout. I brewed a clone of that once....

Last night we had spaghetti and meat sauce for dinner. The wife also popped some dinner bread in the oven. We had one piece of bread left. This morning, I packed it with my leftover lunch, but then the boy started whining that he wanted the bread to eat at daycare. To shut him up, I went ahead and surrendered it. Although, I did try to hit him with some guilt by telling him I would no longer have a lunch.
Karma was nice to me - while I was heating up my leftover spaghetti, the secretary came in with a box of baked goods for whomever wanted one. So I got a fresh-ish chocolate chip cookie.

This weekend, I'm hoping to smoke a beef brisket, depending on whether they have a small-ish one at the store. Haven't decided how to prepare it yet. I've got a couple of marinades in a bag handy, which would make it easy. Or....I could do something from my new marinade book. That has several interesting recipes......

The boy was throwing a fit about his swimming lessons. I'm beginning to think it was a mistake. Not the lessons themselves, but where we enrolled him. The place used to be small time, but then they ended up training someone who went into the Olympics. Now it's expensive and (in my opinion) a little elitist. I don't think they really care about kids, just the hope of training the next great swimmer.
